Nautical Nail Art (with Ulta's Navy themed minis)

Instead of swatching the mini Navy Sealed with a Kiss set I purchased from Ulta, I decided to take a page out of the book of the lovely Sarah from Chalkboard Nails and try some nail art! Now I should preface this by saying I'm not fantastic at nail art, but I love to try. :)

The colors included in the set are: Sailor Boy (light blue), Reel Nauti (navy blue), Star Board (champagne gold), and Love Letters (red). I did use a black polish and white polish that were not a part of this set. Mostly because I wanted to go with a nautical theme as well as nautical colors.

This set was purchased from Ulta's online web site for $4.99. I'm not sure if they are also available in stores, but I would assume so!

What I did: Index and pinky fingers got a base coat of Sailor Boy, my middle finger got a base coat of Love Letters, and my ring finger sstarted with a base coat of Reel Nauti, then I had fun with the designs!  The index, middle, and ring fingers were free handed and the nautical star is from MASH plate #36.

The polishes in this set are excellent for the price. The three cremes were dense and streak-free, with a nice 2-coat formula. The light aqua-blue (Sailor Boy) is surprisingly unique in my collection and the closest thing I have is Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear It For The Boy. The foil (Star Board) was a gorgeous shiny champagne gold color and didn't even show brushstrokes. Even the red creme (Love Letters) is fantastic, although I already own several similar shades.

You can see here the size of the tiny bottles. Very Cute!

What do you think of my nail art? A good attempt or an actual success? :)
