Tape Manicure and Tutorial

Hey Y'all!

I've had a busy day planned today so I'm going to keep it short and sweet. Here is a tape mani that I wore the other day. When I got tired of Cult Nails Feelin' Froggy I did an easy tape mani with Zoya Trixie. The silver added a fun touch.

Here's how to get this look yourself:

Starting with a completely dry manicure, all you need is scissors and tape! Good old scotch tape works great, but I've used paper tape and even sticky notes in a pinch.

1. Leaving the tape on the dispenser, begin to cut the design you want to put on your nail.

2. See the scraps? Make sure that these extra pieces of tape get removed or else they will allow polish under the tape, messing up your design.

3. Cut the design until it's the right size for your nail.

4. Remove the tape from the dispenser.

5. Handle the tape from the opposite side, you want to try not to touch the edge of tape with the design or else it won't stick as well to the nail.

6. Carefully stick the tape to your nail and make sure that all of the edges are stuck down. This is where it is important to start with a completely dry manicure or you will wreck your base coat when pressing the tape securely to your nail.

7. Paint on 1-2 coats of nail polish.

8. Remove the tape promptly after you paint your second coat (or first if you are only using one). For this manicure I made sure to grab the tape from one side and pull in the direction of the zig-zag edge so that the tape did not rip.

9. Finish with top coat and you are done!
