Sally Hansen Orange Splash!

I know I haven't really reviewed many Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes, but I probably have twenty or so in my collection. When I was first getting interested in nail polish I slowly purchased them, loving the fast dry-time before I discovered Seche Vite fast dry top coat. When I saw a gorgeous bright orange in the drugstore I had to pick it up. Halloween decorations are showing up in stores, so it's time to start planning themed manis! SH Insta Dri are some of my favorite polishes for stamping (they are usually thick and pigmented, ideal for stamping) so I just had to have the orange.

Enough chatter, on to the swatches! Orange Splash is a bright orange with firey gold shimmer. It's very bright and boarder-line neon and the shimmer is gorgeous (similar to that glowy shimmer in Zoya Elisa).

The formula is very typical of these Insta-Dri polishes -- very thick -- although this one was more manageable than most. I did have a few brushstrokes, but nothing horrible  There is definitely a trick to using these thick polishes. You have to be careful to scrape all of the excess polish off of the long flat brush stem before going anywhere near your nail. If you don't, it drips down onto the nail and you end up with thick coats that bubble.

Look at that shimmer!

I used three coats, but if my nails were shorter I could have gotten away with two. When I took this photo my nails were longer than they've ever been and hiding the visible nail line was tough! I don't know how ladies with those gorgeous long nails do it!
