Ellagee - Fire Made Flesh Collection

Brrrrr!

It is cold out there today with #Blizzard2016 going on in most of the country.  It actually snowed here in Florida!  The flakes melted as they hit the ground but there was actual snow flurries.  Crazy.  So what better to warm us up than thinking about dragon fire!  Are you a Game of Thrones fan?  I sure am.  Right now I am about to go mad with anticipation of the 6th season.  One of my favorite character is Daenerys, as I am sure you can agree.  She is bad ass!  Ellagee has created a collection of shimmery polishes in honor of the Mother of Dragons and her three sweet babies.  Let's take a look at these lovely polishes!

First, let's talk about polish inspired by the Mother of Dragons herself, "Mhysa".  This is a lovely dusty blue crelly packed with golden microflakies.  I know exactly where this inspiration comes from.  At the end of season 3, Daenerys was wearing a blue dress as she was carried by the freed slaves as they chanted her new name, Mhysa, which means Mother in the Ghiscari language.  Such an awesome scene and such an awesome polish!  The shimmer is very strong with this shade.  It applied nicely in two coats.  It is a soft and elegant blue.

Next, lets take a look at the polish inspired by the biggest and baddest of the three dragons, "Dracarys".  Drogon is the largest of the dragons and was the first to breath fire.  Dracarys means fire is High Valyrian and Daenerys uses this command to have Drogon burn people to the ground.  Such a beast!  Drogon is black and crimson and this polish captures that well.  The base is a deep vampy plum with shifty red microshimmer.  The flakies do look like fire embers glinting through the dark base.  The formula was good and I did two coats with the top coat for these swatches.

This next polish, "Zaldrize" is inspired by the cream and gold dragon, Viserion.  "Zaldrize buzdari iksos daor" is what Daenerys says to the slave master right before she shows him who's the boss.  She is a bad ass!  This means "A dragon is no slave" in High Valyrian.  I think this is my favorite of the bunch.  The golden microflakies really mix nicely with the creamy nude base.  I always like a work appropriate polish with a little bit of extra sparkle.  This formula was a little thicker than the rest but still workable.  I did two thicker coats with a glossy top coat.

Lastly, we have the shade that was inspired by Rhaegal, the green and bronze dragon.  "Valad" means fly in High Valrian and Daenerys uses that command to tell her children to soar.  This polish is another stunner!  I will never get old of green polishes with gold shimmer.  The base color is a bright olive green and the microshimmer is gold and bronze.  Tons of depth in this polish!  I did two coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch.  The formula was the best of the bunch.

The Fire Made Flesh Collection has been out for a while now but Laura said she will be keeping the Game of Thrones collections in stock.  The nifty bronze claw ring I am sporting in these photos is also from Ellagee.  Originally, each bottle came with a ring but now they are just available for purchase separately if you want them.  For only 75 cents...it is worth tossing one or two into your cart.  These polishes retail for $11.50 each or you can get the entire collection for only $41.  That is a 15% savings!  Here is where you can find Ellagee.

  1. Don't judge me, but I never saw an episode of this series. ^^ I really don't know why... But the polishes are great! Especially Zaldrice and Valad.
