Geometric Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hello!

It is the 16th week of the weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.  This week's prompt is geometric nail designs.  I am always a fan of this prompt because I find geometric patterns very appealing.  Straight lines and right angles are always pleasing.  I had a lot of different ideas in my head for a nail art look and most of them involved tiny basic shape outlines.  Take a look at my hand drawn geometric shape nails!

I started off with a base of Zoya's "Charlotte" which is slightly green toned nude creme.  This color was a mystery mini trio shade from 2015 so I am not sure if you can find this anymore.  I topped it off with a quick dry glossy top coat so I had a smooth, uniform surface to draw on.  I used metallic gel pens to actual draw the shapes on.  This was super easy.  And when I messed up, I just wiped off the nail with water (or spit, let's be honest) and started over.

Surprisingly, even thought he gel pen ink wiped off easily it did not smear with top coat.  I took photos without top coat first because I was certain it would smear all over the place.  But all of these photos I am showing you are with glossy top coat and then some matte top coat over that.  I think I like the glossy version better in real life but the matter version better in photos.  My favorite nail is the pointer.  It turned out perfectly

I would highly recommend trying gel pens for nail art.  You can get them at any store and they always have a variety of colors to choose from.  Who doesn't like school/office supplies?  Be sure to check out Lotte's manicure for the challenge today...it is way cool.  Want to see more nail artist joining in on the challenge?  Check out the tag #31DC2017Weekly on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Smooches!
