Takko Tuesday! - Pandamonium

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I have quite a rare takkito to share with you today.  I feel a little guilty sharing this polish because it was a super limited release and will not be available again.  But I am scraping the bottom of my unposted Takko Lacquer collection barrel until the new summer collection is released.  So, you get to see something you may never get your hands on.  Sorry!

Takko Lacquer - Pandamonium - McPolish

"Pandamonium" was a one time special effect top coat that Takko Lacquer released may years ago.  When you apply this thin black polish over a dried base coat/color, it dries to a spotted effect.  I think this originally was black with holographic shimmer but my bottle has always just been plain black.  It is a cool idea and a cool effect but tricky to get it applied correctly.  I don't know if I ever apply it correctly!  Using a super thin coat gives the best spotted effect but I tend to get crackling with it, too.  It could be that my bottle is 4 years old or it is just the way this type of polish works.  I have the exact same problems with OPI Spotted, so I think it is just inherent to these types of top coats.  For this mani, I have a super thin coat of Pandamonium over KBShimmer's All The Bright Moves with a glossy top coat.  It dries super quick and is easy to remove but it was a pain to clean up around the cuticles.  I am a messy painter :)

Pandamonium was only sold in a 5ml bottle.  If you like this grungy effect, be sure to check out destashes for it.  It is different!  There are new Takkos in the works for the summer.  Once I know any new info, I will be sure to let you all know.  In the meantime, pay attention to the Takko Lacquer social media outlets for restock info.

  1. I have never seen this one before. I think I have such a polish from Layla somewhere. It didn't work on all my fingers, I remember. ^^
