Takko Tuesday! - Peony

Happy Takko Tuesday!
Press Sample

Sorry for the lack of posts this week.  But I am in Iceland and didn't get things preblogged before I left.  (Btw...Iceland is amazing and you should totally make the trip if you can!). Today, we are looking at a new creme polish from Takko Lacquer.  "Peony" is a slight dusty rose pink creme with a wonderful formula.  She applied smoothly in two coat and was nice and opaque. You could probably get away with one coat if you were very careful with your application.  This color is part of the Fall release of new shades in the Curiosities & Exquisites Collection.   The collection is ongoing group of cremes and toppers which continuously get added to.  The colors that Sheryl came up with this fall are awesome!

To liven up this manicure, I did a little glitter gradient using another one of Takko Lacquer's topper, "18K White Gold".  I sponged this real gold leaf topper onto my nail near the cuticle for this look.  Supper pretty and girly!

Takko Tuesday! - Wynwood Walls

Happy Takko Tuesday!

Today, I am sharing with you a little flakie gradient I did using Takko Lacquer's "Wynwood Walls".  this is another multichrome flakie from Takko that can be used as both a topper and as a full coverage flakie.  I sponged a few layers onto the tips of my nails for a twist on glitter gradient tips.  The flakies in this polish are fairly small and shift from purple to fuchsia to gold to blue.  The dominant color is purple though.  These flakies are opaque and flat.  One coat gives you excellent coverage and you can get it completely opaque in 2-3 coats.  I am going to share both the glossy and matter versions of this mani because #mattealltheflakies, duh!  Let's take a look!

31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Week 3 Roundup

Hey there, friends!

The third week has been tackled and all of the hard prompts are left!  I am very happy to have made it through this far.  It hasn't been too bad!  Now last year, I fell off the #31dc2013 wagon on Day 23 (which is tomorrow!!).  So I am even more determined to push on through to the end this year.  The last week of prompts is a little more challenging and requires a bit more creativity to come up with new nail art ideas that you haven't already done this month yet.  But this third week is fun!  The prompts are more specific.  So even if you can't think of some creative twist, you can always fall back on the standard nail art technique for the prompt that day.  Enough blabbing...onto some nail art!

Loaded Lacquer - Hula Girl Collection

Happy Monday!

Today I have another collection from one of my favorite indie brands, Load Lacquer.  Heather makes amazing glitters and now she has a few epic shimmers to add to the list of awesomeness.  There are five polishes in this mix and they are all stunners.  The name of this collection is called Hula Girl and it definitely evokes the feeling of summer and tropical vacations.  Enjoy!

Winter glitter gradient

Hi Girls!

Today I have a real simple mani to show you. When I'm in a fliipin hurry I like to do something easy. A glitter gradient is my go to when I have a short amount of time. I am a working mom with two kids (husband and daughter). HA! It is sometimes difficult to find time for myself, especially during the week. Who's with me!? I got some shiny goodness today!

My base is Ethereal Lacquer Gilded Zion. This is a cool white holographic polish with subtle gold shimmer. It reminds me a duo chrome polish because you can only see the gold shimmer at certain angles and lighting. Seen here is 3 thin coats.

I think this color is great for winter and would have been perfect for New Years!

I topped my mani off with Black Cat Lacquer Moonchild. It’s a glitter bomb filled with holographic, iridescent and matte glitter. Circles, hexes and moons a plenty! I had no problem getting glitter onto my nails. I did have to fish for a few crescent moons but that was it.

Here is a macro shot I took of the bottle. Look at all that glitter! Props to Black Cat lacquer for never skimpin' on the glitter.
