Road to Polish Con - Week 1 (Great Lakes Lacquer, Ever After Polish, Tonic Polish)

Hi friends!

I am so happy to announce that I am an official blogger for The Polish Convention this fall!  The Polish Con is a biannual meet up for indie nail polish companies for sell their gorgeous polishes, fanatics like us to snag exclusive shades and meet makers, and for budding nail artists to brush up on new nail art techniques.  I have attended both of the Polish Cons that have occurred and hope to make it to the third one this fall in Chicago.  This year, for the Spring 2017 NYC Con, the creators have started a "Road to Polish Con" sale and are doing it again for the Fall 2017 Chicago Con.  Starting next week, indie brands that will be participating in the Con will have exclusive polishes available each week leading up to the convention.  These polishes will be available for purchase through the official Polish Con site and are limited edition batches.  The Fall convention is in Chicago again and the theme is A Fair to Remember.  So get ready for lots of fun polish names to enhance those themes.  Let's take a look at the very first week of exclusives!

Road to Polish Con - Week 1 - McPolish

Polish Your Crystal Ball by Great Lakes Lacquer - A clear based silver holographic microflakie that is jam packed full of shifting iridescent flakes.  This polish is pretty stunning.  You can use it as a topper or as a full manicure as I have here.  It is super sparkly and the larger shifting flakes are very ethereal.  The iridescent flakes are softer in color and semi-transparent.  The formula is quite nice and applies very smoothly.  This this full coverage look, I am using three coats with glossy top coat.  You can see in the macro that you can make out bare nail a little but in real life it is too sparkly to see.

Razzle Dazzle Them by Ever After Polish - A medium gold metallic holographic base with gold holographic microglitter, pink shimmer and ultrachrome metallic flakes.  Talk about bling!  This shade is very sparkly as well.  Even though the gold color is more of a duller shade of gold the extra holographic bits really make it shine.  The formula was slightly thick so using as few strokes if better for application.  I am showing you two coats with a glossy top coat here.

Vaudeville Venom by Tonic Polish - A medium purple creme with a slight hint of warmth with aqua to fuchsia shifting shimmer.  This is a nice shade for the transition into fall.  The purple is not too bright but not too vampy either.  The shimmer effect is subtle but present.  The formula on this shade is a little patchy with overmanipultaion.  So use deliberate strokes when applying and don't double back.  I am showing you three coats with glossy top coat here.
