Inspired by a Song for the #31DC2016Weekly

Hi friends!

Sorry that I am a day late on posting my #31DC2016Weekly mani but I had numerous nail art fails yesterday and ran out of time.  But I am happy with today's attempt!  This mani was inspired by the hit song from DNCE called 'Cake by the Ocean',  I am certain you know this song, it has been a huge hit!  Not only is this song super fun but I have been dying to try out beach nails.

My base is a gradient of Zoya "Ling" and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in "Shocking Nude" made with a makeup sponge.  Then I a a spray water marble technique to make the water effect.  I dropped a drop of white nail polish into water then sprayed it with some aerosol hair spray.  The alcohol in the hair spray makes the paint separate and gives it that cool effect when you dip you nail in.

Next, I used a little cake image from a Winstonia plate.  I did a little reversed stamping and colored in the cake with pink and purple and threw it on the nail.  I topped it all off with a glossy top coat.  And bam!  Cake by the Ocean!  Haha.  I know it is a little silly and literal but they used a great big slice of cake on the beach in the music video, so I though it was fitting.  Plus, I really like how the spray watermarble turned out.  If you haven't seen the video before, check it out below!

Animal Print for the #31DC2016Weekly

Hello!

Holy moly...I am so excited to share my #31DC2016Weekly mani with you all.  I played around with some Masura magnetic polishes again and I am in awe at just how freaking cool my manicure turned out.  I am going to apologize in advance for the large amount of photos of this one mani but you need to see it.  I was inspired by a nail artist I found on Instagram through some shares on the Masura page.  The user @deryabinayulia (this is just an example of her work, you must look through ther account!) does these crazy, amazing looking snake/alligator/reptile skin manicures with gel polishes (I am pretty sure they are gel, I don't read Russian).  I am mesmerized by them.  So I tried to do my own version using magnetic polish and stamping.  I am am tickled pink with my results!

Winstonia Stamping Plate Organizer

Hey guys!

Sorry for the short absence!  With a cruise vacation and the holidays, my schedule was eaten up.  But I am back and ready to share some great nail art related products with you all.

Not sure what to get that nail art addict in your life for Christmas?  Do they stamp as much as I do?  If so...I have the perfect treat for them!  Winstonia Store has a great nail stamping plate organizer available from their store.  I was so excited to review this product because my stamping plate organization is bad, non-existent actually.  All of my plates were just tossed into a little basket in one of my Alex drawers.  I had to sift through the whole lot of them to find just one image.  Not anymore!  Now they are all contained and are easy to look through.

Let's talk about the organizer itself.  It is called Blue Envy and has an outer shell made of blue leather embossed with Winstonia's logo.  The whole book zips up so there is no where for stray plates to escape.

Inside you will find 20 vinyls sheets with 6 pockets on each sheet.  These pockets perfectly fit a 5.6cm round stamping plate, which is the most common size of plate out there.  Winstonia's first and second generation plates are this size and mine fit perfectly in the pockets.  I only put one plate in each pocket and they did not fall out nor were they difficult to remove.  On the Winstonia site, it says that you can put 2 plates into each pocket.  I don't think I will be using it like that because I like the fit on a single plate very much.

As a bonus, there is a small mesh pocket on the front of the organizer that can hold extra plates (like Winstonia's larger square plates) and other small tools.

Overall, I am super happy with this stamping plate organizer and I would definitely purchase one for a friend (or for myself if I fill up this one!).

This is available from Winstonia Store right now for $18.95.  Order today (12/18) to get FREE SHIPPING and have it by Christmas.  Just use the code 'FREESHIP' at check out.  Be sure check out all of there amazing stamping plates and stampers while you are there!

Happy Stamping!
