Gradient Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Just a few days late on my manicure for the weekly challenge, but hey, that's why the weekly version is great.  You have all week to complete it!  For the gradient prompt, I knew I wanted to try my hand at another scaled gradient but changed my mind at the last minute and did more of a reciprocal gradient.  If you want to know more about the different types or gradients, check out SimplyNailLogical's guide.  I am happy with how they turned out but I think the traditional scaled gradient with the colors going the same direction would have been better.  Oh well!  Still looks cool. :)

Gradient Nails with AEngland Polishes for the #31DC2017Weekly - McPolish

I used two AEngland polishes for this manicure; they always produce the best gradients for me.  the dark blue holo is "Tristam" and the grey holo with light blue duochrome effect is "Captive Goddess".  I started out with a base of Captive Goddess then sponged on the gradient with Tristam at my cuticle and Captive Goddess at my tips.  I applied a quick dry glossy top coat and allowed that to dry before placing a deep v nail vinyl from Whats Up Nails.  I sponged on a opposite gradient over the vinyl with Captive Goddess at my cuticle and Tristam at my tips.  It is all topped with a glossy top coat.

I like the effect of these two colors in a gradient.  I just wish I did either a narrower V shape to be able to see more of Captive Goddess at my cuticle or did a same direction scaled gradient.  What do you think?

If you want to try this out yourself, you can snag AEngland polishes from Color4Nails with worldwide shipping.  That is where I get all of my AEngland shades.  All of them are good.  Every single one, so feel free to snatch them all up.  Be sure to check out all of the other nail artists participating in the weekly challenge this year.  Just check out the tag #31DC2017Weekly tag on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
