OPI DS Magic Photo Marathon! (and a comparison)

OPI Designer Series (DS) Magic is from the newer DS release of non-linear holo polishes. However, DS Magic is definitely gorgeous enough to warrent the designer title.

OPI DS Magic

DS Magic is a dark blue jelly packed with blue and pink sparkly shimmer. The shimmer looks like it has a blue/pink/yellow multichrome going on in the bottle, but only the blue to pink is apparent on the nail. This polish just sparkles incredibly, I'm in love!

Don't you just love it?

The formula was nice, I could have used two coats but I experienced a bit of dragging so I covered it up with a third coat. Dry time was a bit slow, but totally worth it, it's sooooooo pretty!!

OPI DS Magic vs Sally Hansen HD Laser

Magic reminded me a bit of another color in my collection so I did a comparison between DS Magic and Sally Hansen HD Laser. They look identical in the bottle, but on the nail?

Not quite. Laser is a lot more sheer than Magic. Magic also seems to have a darker jelly base than laser. OPI's brush and formula is definitely preferable but I think Laser would be a decent substitute if you don't have OPI redily accessible.

Do you have either of these in your collection?

Dollish Polish Lipstick Around Your Dipstick Swatch

Here's another color I picked up from the Dolly Does Polish collection from Dollish Polish. This is Lipstick Around Your Dipstick, a very pretty bright coral-toned red with tiny silvery flecks. This is a truly stunning polish and my photos don't do it justice, it looks much brighter in real life. The names from this collection all make me laugh. The third color I picked up was A Bad Case Of The Blueballs which I have yet to photograph although I wore it as a base under Whimsical Ideas By Pam's Saturday Morning Cartoons.

The formula was fantastic, two coats and it was opaque, but I used a third to get it good and opaque. I really like this color and have worn it several times already. (This is an old photo from a couple of weeks ago when my nails were shorter and my cuticles were a mess. It was tough getting them to look decent enough for a photo!)
