Takko Tuesday! - Paper Cuts

Happy Takko Tuesday!

The first Takko Tuesday of the new year deserves a little nail art, right?  Well that is easy because this is a special takkito today.  "Paper Cuts" is the first creme polish that Takko Lacquer has released.  Sheryl released this new creme as part of the Fall 2015 Collection.  It is a deep dark red that, frankly, looks like blood.  Which is why the name Paper Cuts is so clever!  The formula was really nice.  I did two coats here but if you typically do thin coats when you polish, you might need a third coat.  But!  I do not have a top coat on this mani.  All that shine is just two coats of Paper Cuts over a base coat.  Awesome!  Sheryl did warn that this polish may cause some staining because of the dark pigments, but I did not have any problems.  (disclaimer...I generally use peel off base coats so I don't take my polish off with remover often. the remover is what breaks down the pigments that causes a lot of the staining.)

Then I added a little nail art!  I placed a single strip of striping tape along the side of my nail.  Then  I used a rose/champagne gold striper from the Revlon Nail Art Expressionist duo in "Silhouette" to lightly drag across the tape towards the center of my nail.  Then I removed the tape and applied a top coat.  Super simple and works with a huge combination of colors.
