Cupcake Polish - Exclusive duo for Color4Nails (Enchanted/Whimsy)

Hi all!

Tonight, I have a quick look at two stunning polishes from Cupcake Polish.  They have produced another great duo of shades to be sold exclusively out of my favorite indie nail polish stockist, Color4Nails.  You will only be able to get these polishes through the stockist, they will not be sold on the Cupcake Polish store.  These colors are gorgeous, as per usual, and are available now for purchase.

Whimsy - A pink leaning orchid linear holographic polish with tons of pink and iridescent microflakie shimmer.  The holo in this shade is strong but not overwhelming.  It leads itself well to the name and feel of this polish.  Whimsical but bold.  The formula was really nice, a little on the thick side which is just the way I like it.  I did two coats with a glossy top coat here.  The strong blue flash of the holo makes my macro shot come out more darker and more purple than the actual color but you can really see all of those flakies in it.

Enchanted - An emerald green linear holographic polish with light blue/aqua and iridescent microflakie shimmer.  Oh damn...this one is amazing!  This polish really glows from within.  The color is deep, the formula is opaque and the shimmer is lovely.  I only used one thickish coat for this swatch.  Yep...one coat.  Then I topped it with a glossy top coat.  Beautiful, right?

As I said before, both of these polishes are available now from Color4Nails.  They retail for $14 each and have world wide shipping for a great price.  Be sure to check out the other Cupcake Polish shades that Color4Nails has to offer.

Takko Tuesday! - Paper Cuts

Happy Takko Tuesday!

The first Takko Tuesday of the new year deserves a little nail art, right?  Well that is easy because this is a special takkito today.  "Paper Cuts" is the first creme polish that Takko Lacquer has released.  Sheryl released this new creme as part of the Fall 2015 Collection.  It is a deep dark red that, frankly, looks like blood.  Which is why the name Paper Cuts is so clever!  The formula was really nice.  I did two coats here but if you typically do thin coats when you polish, you might need a third coat.  But!  I do not have a top coat on this mani.  All that shine is just two coats of Paper Cuts over a base coat.  Awesome!  Sheryl did warn that this polish may cause some staining because of the dark pigments, but I did not have any problems.  (disclaimer...I generally use peel off base coats so I don't take my polish off with remover often. the remover is what breaks down the pigments that causes a lot of the staining.)

Takko Lacquer - Paper Cuts - McPolish

Then I added a little nail art!  I placed a single strip of striping tape along the side of my nail.  Then  I used a rose/champagne gold striper from the Revlon Nail Art Expressionist duo in "Silhouette" to lightly drag across the tape towards the center of my nail.  Then I removed the tape and applied a top coat.  Super simple and works with a huge combination of colors.

I hope you enjoyed a little nail art with your Takkos today :)  A little birdie told me that we may be seeing more cremes from Takko Lacquer this year.  Be sure to follow Takko on their social media platforms to get up to date info on restocks and new releases.

Lisa Nail Lacquer - Fall/Winter 2015 Collection

Good evening!

It is actually starting to be a little chilly this weekend/week.  Now, in Florida, that means temperatures in the 50s which is not cold at all.  But it got me all excited for "winter" (haha, Florida doesn't have winter!).  And in winter, we like to wear deep toned colors, icy blues and grays and nudes.  At least I do.  And this Fall/Winter 2015 Collection from Lisa Nail Lacquer fits the bill!  I am a big fan of Lisa's nail polishes.  Her cremes and shimmers have a great formula and are 100% vegan, cruelty free and non-toxic.  I adored the Spring/Summer Collection and I adore this new collection just as much!  I hope you do, too.  Let's take a look!

KBShimmer's Birthstone Collection

Happy 2016 Friends!

Let's start out the new year on this blog with a look at some lovely birthstone inspired polishes for every month of the year.  KBShimmer has outdone themselves with this collection.  Each of these 12 polishes are just stunning.  They are all packed with silver flakies and holographic dust to make these polishes sparkle and shiny.  As a general rule...the formula on all of these polishes is amazing.  Smooth and applies like a dream.  They are not difficult to remove like a glitter but the silver flakies will get everywhere.  These babies are so sparkly and super metallic that photographing them was a challenge.  I am still waiting on my new macro lens to be delivered, so I do not have macro shots for you today.  But I am sure you will see from my photos just how incredibly reflective and shiny these polishes are.  Let's take a look!

Serendipity Nail Polish - Coastal Christmas Collection

Good evening!

Two posts in one day?  We are on a roll, people.  I have a brand new indie nail polish brand to share with you tonight.  Serendipity Nail Polish has just launched their new nail polish line and the first collection is Coastal Christmas.  Their polishes are 5-free, vegan and never tested on animals...all good things!  The Coastal Christmas Collection consists of 5 polishes, three cremes and 2 glitters.  When you look at the collection, it has more of a Valentine's Day collection feel.  But these colors can be worn year round and not just for the holidays.  Overall, I am quite happy with this inaugural collection.  Let's take a look!

Takko Tuesday! - Electric Flamingo

Happy Takko Tuesday!

This Tuesday, I am joined by my favorite German, Lotte, in sharing swatches of a bright and fun Takko Lacquer polish.  Lotte and I have been working it out so that she can join in on Takko Tuesday once a month.  I hope you are enjoying her posts as well!  Today, we are talking about "Electric Flamingo" which was released in Takko's summer collection this year.  It is a bright pink jelly/crelly packed with iridescent red and green flakies.  The base color is very bright, almost neon, medium pink.  It is perfect for summer but since it isn't actually a neon, you could wear it year round.  I really love iridescent flakies.  They always look cool with both a glossy top coat and a matte top coat. Overall, the polish was slightly on the thick side because of all the flakies but still applied easily.  Clean up was a breeze since it is a jelly/crelly formula.  For this swatch, I have two coats of Electric Flamingo topped with a HKGirl by Glisten and Glow.

I am unsure when this polish will be restocked.  So be sure to keep up to date with Takko Lacquer restocks on their website and social media platforms.  I heard a rumor that they were going to have a Facebook page up and running soon, so keep and eye out for that.  Don't forget to check out my polish sister from across the pond, Lotte, in her Takko Tuesday post today. KBShimmer Winter 2015 Crelly Polishes

Hello lovelies!

I have another handful of polishes from the KBShimmer Winter 2015 Collection to share with you tonight.  These four polishes are all a crelly formula.  A Crelly is a cross between an opaque creme polish and a sheer jelly polish.  They are typically opaque in 2-3 coats but still have a squishy quality to them.  KBShimmer is known for their amazing crelly with glitter polishes and these four are no exception.  These are all from the winter collection but they aren't colors that scream Christmas.  They would work well year round.  Let's take a look at the squishies!

KBShimmer Winter 2015 Holos

Happy Sunday!

Today, I have some gorgeous holographics from KBShimmer's recent winter collection.  These three polishes are cool and icy and perfect for the season.  They can also be worn year round as blue and grey aren't just for the cold season.  Linear holographics have been the hot polish finish this year.  I have been loving all of the extra little bits of fun indie makers have been adding to the holographic mixes.  And these three all have a little something extra!  Let's take a look. :)

Lavish Polish - Christmas Collection

Hi friends!

Tonight, I have a lovely little holiday collection from Lavish Polish to share with you.  This a set of five polishes, all of which have a different finish.  There is only one shade that is obviously Christmas.  The rest of the collection could be worn all year round and not make you think of Christmas.  The Christmas Collection released last week and is available for purchase now.  You can get these polishes individually or save money and buy the whole set.  Let's take a look!

Happy Takko Tuesday!

This is the most special Takko Tuesday ever!!!

I am sure you are well aware of my Takko Lacquer obsession.  I have been doing Takko Tuesday for almost 6 months now and have been able to share with you my Takkito collection.  But today, I am not just showing you a brand new polish, but two new shade that I collaborated with Sheryl to create! Ermahgerd!  My very own Takkos that I helped create!  I don't really have the words to describe just how cool this is for me.  For many nail bloggers, collaborating with great brand to create a blogger collab shade is a huge accomplishment.  I know it is for me!  Sheryl and I worked on these two shades for a few months tweaking the shimmers and pigments.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.  Please, let me know what you think!

Cirque Colors - Holiday 2015 Collection

Hello lovelies!

Today, I have some super special polishes to share with you.  Everyone loves Cirque Colors, right?  They always have the coolest colors and the smoothest application.  Well, their holiday collection this year is no exception.  It is small but it is mighty.  There are only four polishes in this collection.  One will be a permanent shade, two are limited edition and one is a return of a classic holiday topper.  I have all four to share with you today and just a warning, this will be a picture heavy post.  The two super reflective polishes in this set are so difficult to photograph, I included several different shots of them both.  So let's get into the blingy goodness!

Takko Tuesday! - Muse

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I have another delicious shimmery shade from Takko Lacquer.  "Muse" is an older takkito but still a favorite of mine.  The base of this polish is a grayed out purple creme with a deep dusty quality.  There is the most beautiful shifty shimmer in this baby!  The bright purple shimmer is very present at a slight angle and will lean more pink at an extreme angle.  The formula was fantastic, very creamy and opaque.  I did two coats here with a glossy top coat.  Such a great color for winter!

Takko Tuesday! - Matcha Latte

Happy Takko Tuesday!

Today, I have another crowd favorite from Takko Lacquer to share with you all.  "Matcha Latte" was released with the most recent fall collection.  It isn't your typical fall color but gosh darn it's beautiful.   "Matcha Latte" is a milky light jade color with a shimmer shimmer running through it.  There is a little bit of a pearly sheen to the base.  It is stunning and so interesting in person.  The inspiration for this polish is most definitely a matcha green tea mixed with milk.  I do prefer Chai Tea Lattes over the Matcha Latte but this polish makes we want to run out a try more of the green!  I used two thicker coats topped with a glossy top coat for this mani.  The shimmer can show your brush strokes a little bit but it isn't bad at all with this polish.  Takko Lacquer's Vitamin E infused vegan base can dry a little dull/matte so make sure to use a nice glossy top coat to bring out dat shimma.

KBShimmer - For Fox Sake and Toying Around

Hello again!

Welcome to another blog post brought to you by a long airport layover :)  I have the second delicious creme polish from the KBShimmer Winter 2015 Collection to share with you.  "For Fox Sake" isn't your typical color when you think of winter polishes but I think it is wonderful.  You know that I love a good orange polish!  "For Fox Sake" is a creamy muted orange with the perfect creme finish that KBShimmer has been known for.  I used two coats for this swatch and topped it all off with Clearly on Top, the quick dry top coat from KBShimmer.  Superb formula and the color is so flattering.  Even if you are not into orange nail polish like I am, you will love this dusty shade.  And the name is hilarious!  Christy comes up with the best punny names for her polishes.  You definitely need to check out the ridiculously cute Foxy Water Slide Decals that go along with this polish.  I need to order my own!

KBShimmer - For Fox Sake - McPolish

I paired "For Fox Sake" with one of the glitter toppers from the Winter 2015 Collection, "Toying Around."  Every Christmas, KBShimmer releases a special glitter polish for the charity Toys for Tots.  This year, "Toying Around" is inspired by all of the fun colors that children's toys are made off.  This clear based polish has a variery of pastel and bold colored matte glitters in different shapes and sizes.  There is also a sprinkling of holographic microshimmer to give it a little extra sparkle.  I used one coat here and had amazing glitter pay off.  "Toying Around" retails for $8.75 with $4 of every bottle being donated to Toys for Tots.  Last year, KBShimmer donated $3000 from the charity polish sales!  Help make this years donation even bigger by adding this fun topper to your order before December 15th.

I also wanted to mention the amazing gift with purchase that KBShimmer is offering right now!  With any order of $75 or more, you will get this cute little KBShimmer logo makeup bag that is packed with samples of soap and hand lotion, a full sized mani bomb, a full sized bottle of Clearly on Top, a nail file and holiday glitter mix.  The scents of the soap/lotion/mani bomb are random but honestly, I haven't had a KBShimmer scent that I didn't like.  This is such a steal!  The promo will automatically be added to all orders over $75, so no coupon code is needed.  The gift bag promo will be available until Dec 31st or until supplies last.

Takko Tuesday! - La Sirena

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I have a very special takkito to share with you all tonight.  Takko Lacquer has teamed up with osasisXchange to create a special polish for their beauty section of the shop.  oasisXchange is an online shop that sells beauty and home goods from companies that are eco-friendly, whether that is vegan, organic, renewable, recyclable, non-toxic, or sustainably produced.  Not only are the products eco-friendly but oasisXchange donates 10% of the proceeds to chairy:water which provides clean drinking water to people in devolving nations.  Since Takko Lacquer is 5-free and PETA certified 100% cruelty free and vegan, they fit right into oasisXchange's ideals.  Sherly created a polish shade that is exclusive to the oasisXchange shop and inspired by the vision of clean drinking water for all.

"La Sirena" is a deep teal blue polish that is packed with green iridescent shimmer.  It applies like a dream and was very smooth despite all of the shimmer.  With the new Vitamin E infused vegan formula of Takkos, this does dry to a satin matte finish.  I topped it with a glossy top coat to bring out the shimmer and shine.  Two coats and it was completely opaque for me.  I also did not have any staining at all with this deep teal which is something many people expect with polishes in this color family.  My camera wanted to make this polish much lighter and bluer than it is in real life.  I would say the bottle shot photo is the most color accurate of them all.  It is a litter darker and more saturated in real life.

This is the last Takko Lacquer to be released in the beloved square bottle as the manufacturer has discontinued the bottle size.  Sheryl has procured new square bottles that are very similar but are a little bit small in volume.  Takkos have been $13 (as is this one) but in the future will be $12 due to the slightly smaller volume (11ml vs 12ml).  Just an FYI.

As I said before, this polish is only available from the oasisXchange site.  You can learn more about Takko Lacquer in general and learn about upcoming restocks and releases on their online store.

Nine Zero Lacquer - Thanksgiving Trio

Hi babes!

I have a gorgeous little holiday trio to share with you tonight from a new indie brand.  Nine Zero Lacquer is the brain child of a favorite nail polish YouTuber of mine, Jessface90.  If you have never seen her live application swatch videos before, you are missing out.  Jessica has been around the indie nail polish scene for a while now, so she has seen all of the trends and all of the formula issues that other polishes have had.  This previous indie knowledge really shows because her brand new indie line is pretty freaking perfect.  I have purchase a handful of her polishes from her inaugural collection and they were the quality you would expect from a veteran indie polish brand.  No joke.  So, I was super thrilled to be asked to review her holiday collections and I can't wait to share them with you!

Ellagee - Winter is Coming Collection

Hi friends!

Tonight, I have a wintry collection of polishes to share with you all.  Ellagee Polish has just released a collection of five icy colored shades that are inspired by one of the best things ever to happen to  television, Game of Thrones.  Ellagee is doing a series of collection based on show.  This is a second one Laura has released (I promise to share the first one with you soon!).  For this collection, there are 5 polishes total and they all have a blue undertone.  Each of the polishes comes with a matching snowflake ring which is adjustable and adorable.  I always love the extra little bits that Ellagee includes in their packages!  So let's take a look at these icy beauties.

The First Gift of Christmas box

Good evening all!

Tonight, I am sharing swatches of a fun little holiday collaboration box from four great indie polish makers.  The First Gift of Christmas box is inspired by the book/movie The Polar Express.  This was one of my favorite holiday stories when I was younger, so I was excited to see what everyone created with this inspiration.  The box will come with four full sized polishes from each of the makers (Ellagee, Girly Bits Cosmetics, Frenzy Polish and Ever After Polish) that are exclusive to this collaboration box.  Each of the polishes come wrapped in a red velvet pouch as well as some other festive little treats including a mini top coat, hot chocolate bath dust, peppermints and a jingle bell.  Only true believers will be able to hear it ring :)

Takko Tuesday! - Opium

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I have one of my oldest "untried" Takko Lacquer polishes to share with you tonight.  I have had "Opium" in my possession ever since my very first Takko purchase over 2 years ago.  And I have never worn it.  What the what!?!?!  I know...it's criminal.  But do not fear, I wore it today to share with you all!  "Opium" is a beautiful vampy polish that is perfect for fall.  The base color is a dark brown which is almost black.  There is an intense warm reddish orange shimmer through out this polish that shifts to gold and then green at extreme angles.  It is a little sheer on the first coat but I was happy with it's opaqueness after a good second coat.  You could also layer a thin coat over black and get a similar effect (and save your previous shimmery polish).  I was distracted by my nails all day.  I am in love!  I have no clue why it took me so long to wear this shade.  It is colors like this that make be crave autumn.

The last two photos were taken under two different light sources to try and bring out the color shifty awesomeness for you.  The first photo is what this polish looks like most of the time, even in lower light settings which is nice.  I want to eat my fingers! Haha.

Hi friends!

I have a lovely little quad of gorgeous fall holos to share with you tonight.  Pahlish is releasing the Hidden Door Collection tonight and you will definitely need these beauties in your own collection.  This set of four polishes are blackened shades of fall staples with intense holo shimmer and microflakies.  They all have just lovely and opaque formulas that won't disappoint.  This set along with the November  monthly duo will go live tonight at 8pm EST, which is soon!  So let's take a look at the pretties.
