Cupcake Polish - Exclusive duo for Color4Nails (Enchanted/Whimsy)
Monday, May 16, 2016
Hi all!
Tonight, I have a quick look at two stunning polishes from Cupcake Polish. They have produced another great duo of shades to be sold exclusively out of my favorite indie nail polish stockist, Color4Nails. You will only be able to get these polishes through the stockist, they will not be sold on the Cupcake Polish store. These colors are gorgeous, as per usual, and are available now for purchase.
Whimsy - A pink leaning orchid linear holographic polish with tons of pink and iridescent microflakie shimmer. The holo in this shade is strong but not overwhelming. It leads itself well to the name and feel of this polish. Whimsical but bold. The formula was really nice, a little on the thick side which is just the way I like it. I did two coats with a glossy top coat here. The strong blue flash of the holo makes my macro shot come out more darker and more purple than the actual color but you can really see all of those flakies in it.

Enchanted - An emerald green linear holographic polish with light blue/aqua and iridescent microflakie shimmer. Oh damn...this one is amazing! This polish really glows from within. The color is deep, the formula is opaque and the shimmer is lovely. I only used one thickish coat for this swatch. Yep...one coat. Then I topped it with a glossy top coat. Beautiful, right?
As I said before, both of these polishes are available now from Color4Nails. They retail for $14 each and have world wide shipping for a great price. Be sure to check out the other Cupcake Polish shades that Color4Nails has to offer.

Gradient Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly
Saturday, May 7, 2016
Hi friends!
This week's prompt for the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge is gradient nails. I attempted a scaled gradient that turned out to be a complete nail fail. So I ended up settling with a classic two color gradient with a little bit of stamping on an accent nail. I always like doing gradient nails. They are sort of messy but always give a nice effect. I used a makeup sponge for my gradients. Since I have short nails, the two color gradient seems to work the best. But I have done up to a four color gradient on my shorties. I can't get as smooth of blend with four colors as I can with two, so I prefer the two color method.

For this look, I used two Cupcake Polish holographics. The pink holo is "Barbie Girl" from the Life in Plastic Awesome Sauce Indie Box. The purple is "Berry Good Looking" which is the most popular Cupcake Polish ever.
My accent nail is a base of "Barbie Girl" with a stamp of "Berry Good Looking" with a design from the UberChic 4-02 Plate. I used the UberChic XL clear jelly stamper head to make sure the design was centered. This is quite a girly mani and I really liked it! What do you think?
Well, we have made it though the first set of prompts for the challenge. Next week we start on specific nail art techniques. If you want to see more of this challenge, he sure to check out the #31DC2016Weekly tag on these social media outlets: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. There are some great nail art looks out there!
Thanks for stopping by!

Awesome Sauce Indie Box: Life in Plastic
Friday, March 25, 2016
Hey guys!
The next Awesome Sauce Indie Box launched tonight! This quarterly box is a themed collection of indie nail polish brands with some extra nail art and bath/body care thrown in. The regular contributors to the box are Lavish Polish, Ever After Polish, Vapid Lacquer, and Anonymous Lacquer. They bring in a guest indie maker for each box and for this quarter is Cupcake Polish! Life in Plastic is the name of this box and it is inspired by Barbie. All of the extra bits are in the shape of the ponytail Barbie silhouette. Super fun.
Cupcake Polish - Color4Nails exclusive duo
Friday, February 12, 2016
Happy Friday!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend planned. I do not have any plans and I am loving that. Yay for open weekends! Well, tonight, I have a lovely little holographic duo from Cupcake Polish to share with you. As you saw in my Holo Hookup Box review, Cupcake Polish makes some pretty awesome linear holographic polishes. They created this little duo to be sold exclusively through Color4Nails and they are gorgeous! I wish my photos did these polishes justice. They are just so pretty in person.
"Bitter Almonds" is a gunmetal grey linear holographic polish that is packed with metallic silver flakies. There is a little bit of a golden shimmer in here as well. Just a nice mix of metals. The formula was great and this polish was opaque in almost one coat. I did do two coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch. The holo is very strong but still lets the flakies shine through. Mmmmm...grey polish.
Two stunners here. And you can only get these from Color4Nails for limited time. They are single batch pours and once they are sold out, they will not be restocked. You can purchase the duo for $27 or get them individually for $14 each. Make sure to add a few more pretties do you cart while you are at Color4Nails. They offer free shipping with orders of 4 bottles or more to the US and they offer international shipping as well. Bonus!

"Unrequited Love" is the other polish in the exclusive duo. It is a deep berry/burgundy linear holographic polish with the same metallic silver flakies. Under the burgundy base, these silver flakies take on a berry look to them. So pretty! The linear holo is very strong inthis one, too. The formula was amazing and I only needed one thick coat for full opacity. I did do a second coat to see if it changed the color at all but I couldn't see a difference. These photos show it in two coats with a glossy top coat.

The Holo Hookup - Elements
Thursday, January 21, 2016
Hi folks!
This week has been a little bananas for me. Things are always hectic when we are down a person (or 3) at work. So even though I am pooped, I can still share some rainbow holo awesomeness with you! The Holo Hookup with a monthly box of limited edition holographic polishes. There are three regular contributors and one special guest contributor for each box. The Holo Hookup mainstay indie brands are Glisten & Glow, Different Dimensions and Cupcake Polish, all of which are known in the community for their amazing holographic polishes. For the month of February, the special guest contributor is Takko Lacquer, which is not a stranger to this blog. The theme of February's box is 'Elements' and each of the four contributors was given one of the four classic elements to be inspired by: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Such a cool idea and such cool polishes in this box. Let's take a look!
