Another Tuesday and another joint collab with Lotte from Marzipany for a look at a newer Takko Lacquer! When I visited Lotte last month in Germany, I brought her a handful of takktios that she had ordered. We have been doing a joint Takko Tuesday for the past few weeks using the polishes that she got that I hadn't posted yet. Today is the last one! *sad face* We saved the prettiest one for last. "Usagi" is a beauty!

Happy Takko Tuesday!
I am once again joined by my lovely friend, Lotte, for Takko Tuesday this week! We are looking at another new takkito from the Late Summer 2017 Collection. This one is definitely more of a fall shade and is perfect for the weather right now. I am having to wear a light jacket here in Florida!

Happy Takko Tuesday!
On this fine Tuesday, I am joined by Lotte from Marzipany to look at Takko Lacquer's latest contribution to the Holo Hookup Box. This was from the September 2017 box last month, so it is not available for purchase anymore. But you can definitely find it in a destash if you are interested in it. Tako Lacquer has participated in the Holo Hookup box in the past...hopefully we will see more takkitos in future boxes!

Inspired by a Flag for the #31DC2017Weekly
Saturday, September 16, 2017
Hi all!!
I am officially caught up with the #31DC2017Weekly now! Tomorrow's post will be right on track. Last year, for the inspired by a flag prompt, I did a flag for Iceland right before I went on vacation there. I am going to do the same thing this year. Next week, I am heading to Europe for a vacation. I am starting off in Copenhagen for a conference then then meeting my German polish sister, Lotte, in Germany! Yay!!! I can't wait to meet my little international polish pen pal that has become a true friend. :) So I am inspired by the German flag today. My nail are not a direct representation of the actual German flag but I was inspired by the colors of the flag: black, red and yellow.

Join me for a weekly nail art challenge! #31DC2017Weekly
Monday, February 27, 2017
Hi lovelies!
It's that time of year again! Last year, I decided to change the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge into a weekly version to make is easier for me to complete. It turned out great. I was able to get all of the challenge prompts done and was still able to share other content with you all. Since last year's was a success, I wanted to continue with the weekly version this year, too.
Traditionally, the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge starts on September 1st and ends on October 1st. I am going to start the weekly version of the challenge on March 5th. This will have it end on October first right when the daily challenge will end. I will be posting each Sunday with a new nail art look following the traditional prompts. Since this is a weekly challenge, you can post at anytime during the week that you want. If you fall behind, it will be very easy to catch up since it will be going on for so long. You can post on your blog, on your IG, on your Twitter or on your Facebook. You can post anywhere! Just use the tag #31DC2017Weekly so we will all be able to see your lovely nail art looks.
Something else new this year, I have a co-host! Most of you will know my lovely German friend, Lotte, for her joining in on Takko Tuesday here and there. She is going to be doing the challenge with me this year and I hope you will all check out her nail art looks on her blog and IG. I hope you will love her as much as I do :)
Here are the prompts we will be following. I have made a few graphics that you are free to use on your blog/IG/Twitter/FB as you wish. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this year!

Happy Takko Tuesday!
It is the last Tuesday of the month and Lotte is joining me one more time to share in Takko Tuesday. My German nail polish love has been featuring Takko Lacquer all month on her blog. I am so glad she was able to get all of those lovely takkitos swatched! Today, we are taking a look at another shade from the recent Fall collection. "Starships" is a gorgeous polish! I think it is just perfect for fall and winter. The base is a green to slate duochrome that is packed with shimmer and sprinkled with holographic flecks. The finish leans more metallic and can show some brush strokes, so apply carefully. It is pretty darn opaque, too. Not one of those sheer duochromes you need to layer over black for the best effect. I am showing you two coats with a glossy top coat in these photos. The first shot is with straight on light but the last two are with two light sources to show off the duochrome shift better.

Pretty darn cool, right? Takko Lacquer will be restocking the Fall 2016 Collection in the next week or two. Be sure to pay attention to the website and their social media accounts for details. And don't forget to visit Lotte's post on Starships on her blog. I bet you she has some water droplet photos!

Takko Tuesday! - Queen of Hearts
Tuesday, November 22, 2016
Happy Takko Tuesday!
Today, we are taking a look at another new shade from Takko Lacquer. And when I say we, I mean me and my German polish love, Lotte! She has been featuring takkitos on her blog all month long and joining me on Takko Tuesdays. We are showcasing "Queen of Hearts" which is from the most recent fall collection. This is not a typical Takko Lacquer shimmer shade. It has a deep cherry red jelly base and is packed with iridescent, shell like microflakes. I love a nice jelly polish and am very excited whenever Takko Lacquer creates one. This application was nice a smooth but slightly sheer with the jelly formula. I used three thinner coats for these swatches to get a nice cherry finish. I am showing you what it looks like with both a glossy and matte top coat. Matte macros are so much fun :)
Takko Lacquer will be restocking all of the new fall shades in the beginning of December. This weekend there is a special treat in store for Small Business Saturday. They will be holding a sample and inventory sale of old polishes. Not only will you be able to snag old, coveted takkitos but the prices will be reduced by 30-40%! Oh my! Stay tuned to the Takko Lacquer website to preview which colors are going to be available.
Also, don't forget to check out Lotte's review of Queen of Hearts on her blog. She always has amazing swatch photos. Much better than mine!

Takko Tuesday! - Stoned

Happy Takko Tuesday!
I promise to get back to more frequent posting here. With my trip to Iceland and losing my sweet, sweet pup, Oscar, this past weekend, I have not been on my blogging game. So, to get back into the swing of things, let's look at a new Takko Lacquer shade! "Stoned" is such a cool and complex nail polish that was recently released with the fall collection. It is very hard to describe and my photos will probably be more help. The base is a grey toned neutral stone colored creme and it is packed to the brim with charcoal and gold microflakies. It looks like actual stone on you nails! Application was smoother than I had anticipated with all of the flakies in it. I only needed two coats for full opacity and topped it off with a glossy top coat. I am in love with this shade! And you know who else is? My German polish pal, Lotte. She is showcasing Takko Lacquer all month long on her blog and will be joining me for Takko Tuesdays for the next few weeks. If you want to see more gorgeous takkitos on her elegant nails, be sure to follow her closely this month (and always because she is awesome).

Takko Tuesday! - Kaleidoscope Eyes
Tuesday, October 11, 2016
Happy Takko Tuesday!
I have another original Takko Lacquer shade to share with you all today. Also! My polish sister from Germany, Lotte, is going to be joining in on the Takko Tuesday fun with us again. She is a Takko Lacquer addict just like me and I love being able to share these special Tuesday posts with her. Be sure to check out her blog today for her swatches. "Kaleidoscope Eyes" is a lovely little shifter from Takko Lacquer. The base is a blue to green to purple multichrome with a little of a metallic finish. The base color overall gives off a teal vibe with a little hint of a slate blue at times. At an angle, you can see it shift through a variety of pretty mermaid shades. Then, there is also a substantial linear holographic shimmer running through it. So, not only do you get the shifting multichrome effect but you also get rainbows! Yas! The formula was quite nice and completely opaque in two coats. It can show off brush strokes if you are not careful but they dry down mush less noticeable. A glossy top coat really brings out the holo effect. I really like this shade. I find it muted but bright and a very nice color for fall and winter. It's a keeper!
These next photos were taken with two different light sources at opposing angles to really show off that shift. This polish is such a chameleon. So cool!
This shade is not currently available but could very well be restocked in the future. Sheryl likes to bring back older shades for time to time. To be up to date on all of the new releases (coming soon!) and restocks, be sure to follow Takko Lacquer on all of their social media outlets. And of course, be sure to check out Lotte's own post on Kaleidoscope Eyes!

Takko Tuesday! - Dazed and Confused
Tuesday, September 27, 2016
Happy Takko Tuesday!
Today is another special Takko Tuesday because I am joined by my German polish sister, Lotte, again. Yay! It has been a hot minute that we can done TT together but we are showing some love to the same Takko Lacquer shade today. "Dazed and Confused" is an older takkito but still very beautiful. I was able to snag this shifter in a blog sale and was super happy about it. I am still trying to complete by Takko Lacquer collection and always looking to fill in the holes when I can.

I was able to snag this shifter in a blog sale and was super happy about it. I am still trying to complete by Takko Lacquer collection and always looking to fill in the holes when I can.
"Dazed and Confused" is a dark, royal blue multichrome with an awesome holographic shimmer. The base is dark but bright at the same time with a slightly metallic effect. It shifts from royal blue to deep purple to a coppery red as the angle of the light increases. This in combination with e holographic sparkle makes it look like an instant galaxy on your nails.
I am showing you two coats with a glossy top coat in these swatches. I am including shots with different angles and light sources to show off that shift as much as I can. Photos don't do this one justice, you really need to see shifters like this in person.
As I said before, this shade is an older release but could very well come back in a restock in the future. As far as I know, this is not a discontinued color. Be sure to stalk Takko Lacquer's social media for all of the latest info on restocks and new releases. And be sure to check out Lotte's Takko Tuesday post today. She will likely show off this color beautifully as she does will all of here reviews.

Takko Tuesday! - Cheshire Cat
Tuesday, February 16, 2016
Happy Takko Tuesday!
I have another older Takko Lacquer to share with you all today. And for a special treat, my pal Lotte is joining in on the fun today as well! I have been loving having my German polish sister doing Takko Tuesday with me once a month. Be sure to check out her post here. Well, today we are taking a closer look at "Cheshire Cat" which is a shimmery thermal. The coolest thing about this thermal is the color. The warm and cold state matches the colors of the Cheshire Cat from Disney's Alice in Wonderland perfectly. His stripes alternate between a pinkish fuchsia and a grape purple. This polish is that nice fuchsia pink when it is warm and then shifts to the grape purple when it's cold (obviously my tips are colder than my nail beds here). Then there is a lovely golden shimmer that matches his yellow eyes. I love this polish! I have had this polish for well over a year now and it is still transitions nicely. I have two easy coats with a glossy top coat here. Super fun!
This shade is not currently in stock on the Takko Lacquer website. But Sheryl has hinted at some older shades being restocked soon...perhaps this might show up there! I also have some exciting new to share about a new Takko Lacquer stockist. It has just been announced that my favorite stockist, Color4Nails, will be carrying Takkitos! And they ship internationally! I am not certain on the exact date, but stay tuned to Takko's social media for the official launch date.

Takko Tuesday! - Rhinestone Eyes
Tuesday, January 12, 2016
Happy Takko Tuesday!
It's that time of the month again where I have my best German love, Lotte, join me in highlighting a lovely Takko Lacquer polish. We decided to do a shade from the Fall 2015 Collection, 'Rhinestone Eyes'. You know I love an interesting nude polish. There is just something so sophisticated about a neutral shade that has a little bit of something extra to make it stand out. 'Rhinestone Eye' is a dusty lilac mauve creme packed with small real silver flakies. The formula is a little on the thick side because of all of the flakies but it was still easy to apply. If you use a thick and even coat...you could probably get away with one coat. But I did two coats for this swatch topped with a glossy top coat. If you like cool, dusty shades, you will love this one. Completely work appropriate but it still has a little something special.

Takko Tuesday! - Electric Flamingo
Tuesday, December 15, 2015
Happy Takko Tuesday!
This Tuesday, I am joined by my favorite German, Lotte, in sharing swatches of a bright and fun Takko Lacquer polish. Lotte and I have been working it out so that she can join in on Takko Tuesday once a month. I hope you are enjoying her posts as well! Today, we are talking about "Electric Flamingo" which was released in Takko's summer collection this year. It is a bright pink jelly/crelly packed with iridescent red and green flakies. The base color is very bright, almost neon, medium pink. It is perfect for summer but since it isn't actually a neon, you could wear it year round. I really love iridescent flakies. They always look cool with both a glossy top coat and a matte top coat. Overall, the polish was slightly on the thick side because of all the flakies but still applied easily. Clean up was a breeze since it is a jelly/crelly formula. For this swatch, I have two coats of Electric Flamingo topped with a HKGirl by Glisten and Glow.

Takko Tuesday! - Coquettish
Tuesday, November 3, 2015
Happy Takko Tuesday!
Hello friends. I have such a lovely Takkito to share with you today. "Coquettish" is a newer shade from Takko Lacquer. It was released with the fall collection last month and it was such a surprise favorite for me. My amazing buddy Lotte from Marzipany really loved it, too. So she is joining me today for Takko Tuesday! Make sure you check out her swatches and review here.
"Coquettish" has a dusty mauve base with this amazing teal shimmer. Some would call this shade of pink a Grandma color, but I call this polish a Cool Grandma color. It is so flattering and is an A+ in my book. I used two coats with a glossy top coat for these photos. It was super creamy and opaque. When this shade is back in stock...you need it! If not for you, then for your cool grandma. ;)
So...is this shade for you? I adore it! Takko Lacquer has their store on break fro the month of November. They will be back open in December with restocks and some new colors. Be sure to follow Takko on social media to keep up to date on restocks and sales. The last fall release actually wasn't bad at all. There were polishes available for several hours, which is a feat! Don't forget to stop by Lotte's post to check out her review of this lovely color.

Takko Tuesday! - Diamonds and Tulle
Tuesday, October 13, 2015
Happy Takko Tuesday!
Today, I have another lovely Takko Lacquer baby to share with you! "Diamond and Tulle" came out in last year's winter collection but I just recently snagged it from the final sale on Llarowe. It is a beautiful rose gold metallic with a soft linear holographic shimmer. I have been totally digging rose gold accessories this year and I don't think that love with fade anytime soon. It is just so girly yet sophisticated. The formula was fantastic and was pretty much a one coater for me. I did use two coats with a glossy top coat in this swatch but I truly almost stopped after the first one. Even though it is metallic, it did not have those dreaded brush strokes which I appreciate.
Today is also special because I am doing another dual Takko Tuesday post with my polish sister across the pond, Lotte! Be sure to check out her swatches of Takko Lacquer's "Diamonds and Tulle" over on her blog Marzipany. Here is the link! Make sure you say hello to her...she's a doll :)
And now for the Takkitos! Mmmm...takkos.
Do you love it? I love it! Totally love it. I think I am going to pair this is white sometime soon. Maybe a white base with some D&T polka dots? I will put that in the nail art idea vault for another time. In the meantime, check out all of these places where you can stalk Takko Lacquer. Stay up to date with restocks and new releases via social media and check out the international stockist. I think Femme Fatale might actually have this one in stock!

Takko Tuesday! - Afternoon Delight
Tuesday, September 15, 2015
Happy Takko Tuesday!
Today is another great edition of Takko Tuesday that I am sharing with my buddy Lotte in Germany! She just sent me a humongous nail mail package filled with all kinds of fun German drug store polishes. She's the best! We are both sharing swatches of Takko Lacquer "Afternoon Delight" today. This lovely polish was part of the Summer 2015 collection. The base color of this polish is pink that leans a little bit coral in my opinion. There is a lovely shifty shimmer that mainly looks gold but at certain angles it shifts to green. I couldn't get that shift on camera but I promise it is there! Takko Lacquer has a new formula that is infused with Vitamin E. This helps with nail strength but make the polishes dry a little matte. So be sure to use a glossy top coat to make it shine. I used two coats of Afternoon Delight with top coat for this swatch. So, after you look at my swatch, be sure to check out Lotte's swatches here.
Be sure to stay up to date with Takko Lacquer restocks to get your hands on this beauty. You can also try the international stockist, I am pretty sure that Mei Mei Signatures has recently gotten a shipment of new takkitos. Here is where you can stalk Takkos!

Takko Tuesday! - Jabberwocky

Happy Takko Tuesday!
Takko Lacquer shop and restock info
This week I have a special treat for you. Not only do I a have one of the most beautiful Takkitos to share with you, but my friend Lotte is joining in on a Takko Tuesday fun as well! Lotte is my lovely pen pal/nail polish swapper/awesome buddy in Germany. She is a Takko addict as well and we have joined together to share our swatches of Jabberwocky today. Be sure to check out her swatches here on her blog, Marzipany.
"Jabberwocky" is a STUNNING dusty teal jelly base with a shifty coppery shimmer. I literally gasped aloud when I applied this polish. No joke. The formula is fantastic and just the right amount of squishy. I used two thicker coats for full opacity (because I nubbinized!) but if you have longer nails with more white tip exposed, a third coat may be needed. I love pairing contrasting colors together and the way the shimmer plays with this dusty aqua base is just beautiful. The shimmer looks like it just pops right off of the nail. Jabberwocky might have just edged itself into my 'Top 10 Polishes" list! This was originally offered as Gloss48 exclusive last year but has since been restocked on the Takko Lacquer online store and other stockists. Let's see this beauty!
Drool worthy, right? I am not sure when Jabberwocky will be restocked, so be sure to follow Takko Lacquer to learn about upcoming sales. I do know that Sheryl will be having a restock of the Summer 2015 Collection as well as three original Takkitos (Blushing Nude, Wanderlust and Electric Apple) on September 3rd. You will also get to see the new Takko logo and labels! They are very similar to the current labels, just a little more sophisticated. Set your alarm!!
