I have so shifty little polishes to share with you all! Candy Lacquer has recently released a collection of multichrome holographic polishes inspired by the classic TV show, The Twilight Zone. Each of these shades look different in the bottle, different in the shade, different in the sun, different depending on the angle of the light. They look different all the time! Which is what makes them so much fun to wear! (maybe not so much fun to photograph) I have a ton of photos for you. I tried to show off all of the different looks each of these polishes has. Let's get shifty!
Just some general information about my swatches and these polishes so I don't have to repeat myslef over and over again. These polishes are on the sheer side with almost a jelly like finish. All of these swatches are with three coats and a glossy top coat. You could definitely get away with doing one coat over a black base to cut down on the layers. To show off all of the shifting colors, I used two types of lighting. The first three photos of each polish are under a single direct light source. The last two photos of each color are shot under two light sources at different angles to show off the shift. They may look like completely different polishes, but I assure you they are not. These polishes just change so much depending on the light!
Walking Distance - A primarily green mulrichrome chameleon polish with linear holographic shimmer. This shade shifts from bright apple green to gunmetal grey with some flashes of gold in there as well.
It's a Good Life - A primarily pale gold multichrome chameleon polish with linear holographic shimmer. This shade does not have the most noticeable shift but it is still very pretty. It goes from a pale champagne to a green toned antique gold with some bright bronze flashes.
Nightmare at 20,000 feet - A primarily indigo multichrome chameleon polish with linear holographic shimmer. This one shifts from a deep indigo blue to muted purple to cranberry. The holo effect is very strong with this shade.
The Eye of the Beholder - A primarily caribbean blue multichrome chameleon polish with linear holographic shimmer. This one is sooooo shifty. It starts out as a teal toned blue then shifts through navy to plum to bright magenta.
Twenty-Two - A primarily teal green multichrome chameleon polish with linear holographic shimmer. Another nice shifter here. It shifts from green to teal to blue to pink to red. It is similar to the previous polish but has much more green in it overall.
Living Doll - A primarily pinky purple multichrome chameleon polish with linear holographic shimmer. This one has a nice shift a well. It starts out a deeper purple shade then shifts to bright pink to copper to gold. The bright pink flash in the light makes it really pop.
The Monsters are Due on Maple Street - A primarily bronze multichrome chameleon polish with linear holographic shimmer. This polish is quite warm. It shifts from warm brown to orange to copper. The linear effect gives it a red flash as well.
Lots of photos there! But can you see how hard it was to show off these colors the way the needed to be seen? I do like the addition of the holographic shimmer to these multichromes. It gives it a little extra sparkle. My fave is probably The Monsters are Due because I am a sucker for orange shades. Which is your fave? As I said above, these polishes are available now for purchase from the Candy Lacquer online store for $10.50 a piece. Let me know if you snag any of these!
