Barielle Jet Setter Collection Nail Art

Hello 2015!

McPolish here with my first blog post in 2015!  I am sure we all have a long list of "resolutions" for the new year.  Mine include all of the typical items; weight loss, better organization, better correspondence, save money.  But I also have nail polish related goals, too.  One is to blog more consistently and the other is to organize and destash my collection.  It's very overweight and needs to slim down this year.   Haha!  My stash has its own weight loss new years resolution.  I haven't decided what I am going to do with my destashed polishes but I will be sure to let you all know (when that time comes).

So on to three nail art looks using the newest collection from Barielle!  The Jet Setter collection is a combination of cool and muted tones that are great for winter.  These 6 polishes were easily paired off into complimenting color combos that just needed to be be used together.  I will describe how I created each of these looks after the jump!

First up we have two similar colors, dusty greens.  "Irish Eyes" is a mossy green creme and "Gondola Ride" is more of a grayed out sage green creme.  The formula on these cremes was great.  They could be one coaters if you are careful with application.

For this pair, I created a negative space manicure using chevron Nail Vinyls.  I painted on my base coat then applied the chevron vinyl to each nail.  I then painted "Gondola Ride" near my cuticle and "Irish Eyes" at my tips.  I removed the nail vinyls while the nail color was still wet to get a nice clean line.  I sealed my design in with a quick dry top coat.

The next obvious polishes to pair together were "Rain in Spain" and "Midnight in Paris".  Not only did the colors compliment each other but the names we similar as well.  "Rain in Spain" is a periwinkle-lavender creme with the same amazing formula.  "Midnight in Paris" is a deep blurple with a blue metallic shimmer.  It is very pretty in person and I feel like my photos did not capture its beauty well enough.

I used these two complimentary colors for a simple dotticure.  I sued two coats of each polish and then used two different sized dotting tools to make the dots.  This is a super simple nail art technique that anyone can do!  You can use random things around your house to make the dots or purchase a package of dotting tools (I got mine from Winstonia Store).

Lastly, we have a pair of brown polishes.  I love nude and brown polish ans these two did not disappoint.  "Kiss Me Kate" is a nude creme which complimented my skin tone well.  "Autumn Seoul" is a rich brown metallic with copper shimmer.  Both of these polishes had the same great formula as the rest in this collection and were the warmest colors.

I used these two polishes to create a geometric design with the help of Stuck on Love Nail Shields from Love, Angeline.  This was a small sheet of vinyls that had tiny triangles cut our of them.  After painting my nails with two coats of "Kiss Me Kate" and  a quick dry top coat, I placed the triangle sheet on each nail.  I used an eye shadow applicator to sponge on " Autumn Seoul" into the triangle spaces.  I removed the vinyl while the polish was still wet to get clean edges.  I topped everything off with another coat of quick dry top coat.  I really loved the way this turned out!
