Glam Polish - The King Collection

G'day!

Boy, do I have some pretty little polishes to share with you today!  I have featured Glam Polish on the blog previously.  They are my favorite Australian indie nail polish brand and I have a weakness for their collections.  I hardly ever seem to buy just a few polishes for each collection, I just grab up the entire collection sight unseen.  So, you can imagine my excitement when they contacted me to review their newest creation, The King Collection.  Yippee!  This collection is inspired by the King of Rock-n-Roll himself, Elvis Presley.  There are nine polishes in the collection and I have 6 of them to share with you today.  Let's take a look at these hunka hunka burnin' loves!

"Can't Help Falling in Love" is a bright royal blue with scattered holographic shimmer, blue glass flecks and holographic sparks.  The first time I personally owned a polish with these new holo sparks was a Glam Polish shade.  As I have mentioned before, I am not a huge fan of the holo sparks but they are mild in this shade.  It is super sparkly and only needed two coats for full opacity.  I topped this with Sweet and Sour Lacquer's Gloss Sauce.

"A Little Less Conversation" is an aqua/turquoise base with green/aqua glass flecks, a little scattered holo shimmer and holographic sparks.  The color of this base is gorgeous!  It has a little bit more of a milky quality than the previous shade but the glittery bits are the same.  The holo sparks were not super prominent but you may need to two coats to top coat to make it completely smooth.  Here, I did two coats of polish and one coat of Gloss Sauce.

"Suspicious Minds" is a deep, plummy purple jelly with holographic microflakies, a shifty red/coppery shimmer and some holographic sparks.  What a vampy color!  The shimmer is intense and almost gives it a duochrome effect.  The holo sparks are not too dense and blend in better with the more jelly like base here.  This was nice and opaque in two coats and topped off with a gloosy top coat.

"Burning Love" is a stunner!  It is a deep crimson red, blood red jelly with fiery golden/coppery microshimmer and some holographic sparks.  This baby glows fro within!  I am usually not a huge fn of red polish but I did not want to take this shade off.  It is sexy and vampy and beautiful.  Again, the holo sparks were not too annoying in this jelly base and didn't stick up too much.  I did two coats topped with Gloss Sauce for this swatch.

"Viva Las Vegas" is a rainbow bling fest!  The base of this polish is clear and it is jam packed full of silver holographic shimmer/microglitter as well as rainbow holographic hexes of various sizes.  This is easy to get completely opaque in just two coats but still went on smooth, not too thick.  I don't think these are holo sparks in this one.  If there are, I can't tell.  But you will still need a good top coat because all of that glitter will dry down a little bumpy.

"All Shook Up" is a super blingy red, white and blue polish.  This too is in a clear base but is so glitter backed that you only need to two coats for full nail coverage.  There is silver holographic shimmer and microglitter as well as mate white and metallic red and blue glitters.  It is quite patriotic (for m American friends) and I will be bringing this one out for July 4th and Memorial Day this year.  This is two coats with a glossy top coat here.

The King Collection with released tomorrow, April 29th, at 2pm EDT (US).  Even though Glam Polish is an Australian brand, they have a US warehouse to cut down on shipping costs for us Americans.  There are three other colors in this collection that are soft, pastel holographic shades.  They will be sold as a full set and individually from the Glam Polish site.  Be sure to order for your correct region (US vs Aussie) since the stock comes out of different warehouses.  My faves are Burning Love and Suspicious Minds.  Which ones will you be picking up?

  1. Usually I love all the collections coming from Glam Polish. There are still a lot on my wishlist. But with these holosparks... What's up with these? There popping up everywhere. :) They look awesome, but I think, I'll work on the rest of my wishlist first. :D

    1. They are reformulating the ones with holo sparks and releasing them later this year.

  2. On the Glam Polish website The King Collection is only available as a 6 piece and it's tittled "Pt. 1". Does anyone know why this is? It was announced as a nine piece and then when it became available for sale they changed it, seemingly with no explanation.

    2. Oh, good! I was just about to comment on the holo sparks. I guess they haven't been getting good feedback on that aspect of the pllishes.
