Awesome Sauce Indie Box - Are You a Hero or a Villain? feat. Takko Lacquer and Parrot Polish

Hi friends and Happy Takko Tuesday!

This week's Takko Tuesday post is a little different as I am not just featuring one Takko Lacquer polish but an entire box of indie polishes including Takko Lacquer!  The newest Awesome Sauce Indie Box is out and Takko Lacquer is one of the guest makers.  This box is inspired by super heros which are actually more villainous...but we still root for them.  There are five polishes each from a different indie maker along with lot of fun little goodies to play with.  Ever After Polish, Lavish Polish and Anonymous Lacquer are joined by guest contributors Takko Lacquer and Parrot Polish this time around.  All of the polishes are gorgeous, dark and moody.  Perfect push into fall!  Let's tak a look at all of the goodies included in this quarter's box!

Let's start out of the star of Tuesdays on the blog, Takko Lacquer.  Their creation exclusive to the box is "Creulla" which is a clear based microglitter.  This can be worn as a topper or on it's own.  I am showing you three coats on it's own here.  The base is clear and packed with golden microflakie shimmer.  There is a very sophisticated mix of matte black and white microglitters with a ton of flashy yellow gold metallic microglitters.  It is very sparkly and reflective.  The formula was pretty smooth for a microglitter.

Next, we are looking at the other guest maker, Parrot Polish.  This is my first time trying out Parrot Polish and I am impressed.  "Magneto" is an indie magnetic polish.  I am not sure if I have seen that before!  The magnetic effect is not super duper strong but it still gave it a striking effect.  It polish is really gorgeous on it's own with out a magnet as well.  Very opaque and dries very quickly.  The base is black but the magnet pulls out a dark purple color.  There is a subtle holographic shimmer through out the polish.  I used two coats with a glossy top coat here as well as a neodymium magnet to create this look.  The box does not come with it's own magnet but you can easily pick one up from Amazon.  Here is the one I used.

Now for the regular contributors to the box.  Ever After Polish created a very pretty blue polish called "Raven" that was inspired by Mystique.  The base is a bright but deep blue jelly with holographic shimmer and ultrachrome flakes.  The formula was very nice and I only needed two coats for full opacity.  Ever After Polish has also included a mini bottle of Matte Top Coat in the box.  I used it on each of the following swatches to show you a little matte macro action.

Anonymous Lacquer contributed a murky green jelly inspired by Poison Ivy called "Ms. Ivy League".   The base color of this jelly definitely gives off a poisonous feel!  I really like the color.  There is tons of additional microshimmer in this polish in red and silver holographic.  The formula is nice and smooth.  I used two thicker coats with a glossy top coat here.  There is also an awesome matte macro included!

The final shade is another jelly based polish.  Lavish Polish has created "Daddy's Little Monster" for the box.  This black jelly is inspired by Harley Quinn.  It has a mix of red and gold microglitters and holographic shimmer.  The formula is awesome.  I just love Lavish Polish jellies.  I used two thicker coats for this swatch.  Both glossy and matte macros provided.

There are a some fun little extras in this box!  Not only do you get five indie polishes but you also get all of these goodies!  I forgot to include the mini Matte Top Coat from Ever After Polish in this photo, but you got to see it's mattifying prowess in the previous macros.  Parrot Polish has included a heart shaped soap.  Anonymous Lacquer provided a sample of their awesome Jojoba Cuticle Oil (love this applicator and scent!).  And then for a super extra treat, Beautyometry has joined in and provided a MoYou London stamping plate and a nail file!  There are 1 of 4 super hero themed stamping plates that will included in the box.  Such a bonus!

What a fun box this time around!  I love that Takko Lacquer got to be a part of this.  The glitter is way fun!  The Awesome Sauce Indie Box is available to pre-order right now.  You can choose from a box with all full sized polishes in it for $55 or a box with all mini sized polishes for $35.  You really can't beat the price of these boxes, especially when you get all of the extra goodies included.

  1. My favorites are the Takko and the Parrot - no surprise there :) But I like the overall mix, too.
