Loaded Lacquer Jiggles - Mysterious Set

 Hey there friends!

If you have been following me on Instagram, then you are familiar with my intense love of jelly polish.  I just love how squishy they look on the nail and that you can create super fun jelly sandwiches with them!    The Jelly Sandwich is an easy nail art technique that anyone can do...anyone.  I create my jelly sandwiches by layering 2 coats of squishy, jelly polish, then 1 layer of glitter, then another single layer of jelly polish.  The possible combinations are endless!  So when I saw that Heather from Loaded Lacquer was releasing 10 jelly polishes called The Jiggles, I knew I needed them all.  Nomnomnom Jellies!!!

I am sharing my jelly sandwich manicures from the Mysterious Set with you today.  These colors are the darker shades of the Jiggles.  I used all Loaded Lacquer glitters to make these looks.  And of course there is going to be EPIC macros too!  Because this post is very picture heavy, be sure to click through to see all the squishy goodness.

NerdLacquer Cyance Friction

Do you ever get really excited for a nail polish and end up disappointed? That's how I felt about NerdLacquer Cyance Friction. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with the nail polish, it's very pretty, just not what I imagined!

When I originally saw swatches of Cyance Friction it was one of those must-have polishes for me. Cyance Friction is a beautiful bright blue base with silvery pink shimmer, and bronze (at least I think that color would be called bronze) hexagonal glitter in two different sizes.

The formula is a bit sheer (like most NerdLacquers) but was opaque in three coats, and it dries to an incredibly smooth finish. The photos below are three coats with one coat of Seche Vite topcoat after 3 or 4 days of wear.

I'm not sure why this polish fell flat for me, but I just didn't like how it looked on me. Have you ever been disappointed with one of your must-have polishes?

Zoya Dita

I can't believe how long it's been since I've polished my nails with something other than gel polish! I never thought I'd get into gel polishes, but here I am neglecting my polish stash. Last night Today I'm wearing the gorgeous Zoya Dita! The weather here in coastal South Carolina is starting to warm up, and I'm always drawn to brighter reds and pinks for spring and summer!

Dita is a creamy light berry-red polish. The formula was very excellent (typical for a Zoya creme), not too thin or too thick, and opaque in two coats. Photos below are two coats with Seche Vite topcoat after a day or two of wear (you can see some faint scratches in the finish, but no chips so far)!

Next to the many reds in my collection this one looks almost pink, and I love. The color is similar to Butter London Snog, but Dita is a bit more purple/berry toned than the coral-toned Dosh. This shade is amazingly unique in my collection (although it's not a terribly unique color overall).

Do you have a favorite bright red-pink polish?

Priti NYC Black Hole collection

Press Sample

When Priti NYC contacted me to swatch some of their polish, I was beyond excited. I have several polishes of theirs in my personal collection. I love polishes that are five free and vegan. Today I have polishes from their Black Hole Winter collection. They are gorgeous!! Hope you like them.

First up, Black Mondo. A super rich medium grayish blue cream with silver shimmer. Flawless formula with easy application. Brush is a little thick, but the width is perfect. This is two coats with no top coat.

Green Wizard Rudbeckia. Army green crelly with gold flaky bits and gold shimmer. Hard to capture the complexity. Formula was great. This is two coats, no top coat.

Black Hollycock. This is polish is gorgeous. Definitely one of my favorites. Black jelly, filled with blue, green, silver and copper micro glitter. Gorgeous polish and flawless in three coats. Topped with one coat of HK Girl top coat.

Last but not least. Midnight Blue Gerbera. This was my favorite. I didn't think this blue was going to amaze me like it did but WOW it's so pretty. This is a cobalt blue jelly filled with silver micro glitter. This is a perfect winter shade. I wish I would have had this around Christmas for the snow mani I had done.

Swatchday Sunday: Squeaker Doodle Polish

Press Sample

Happy Sunday, y'all! Tonight I have swatches from a new indie nail polish line launching on February 14th: Squeaker Doodle Polish. The first collection, named Story Booke, is inspired by the TV show Once Upon a Time.

First up to bat is Captain Swan, a black polish with red micro glitter and medium red square glitters. My square glitters didn't want to come out and play. I e-mailed the maker about this, but to tell you the truth, I prefer the polish without them. It has a nice depth and glow from the micro glitters and doesn't need the larger glitters in my opinion.Pictures show two easy coats, formula is good and opacity was easy to reach. The black is really nice and inky and there's no one in the blogosphere that should be surprised that I love a black and glitter polish.

Next up is Chipped Cup. This is an irridescent blue polish with a gold holographic micro and tiny hex glitters. I was pleased that this one built up to good opacity in just two coats. I also read on the seller's page that it can be used as a layering polish. This one is very unique to my collection, I haven't seen anything quite like it on the indie market, which is quite a feat. This was the surprise favorite of the collection for me. Photos show two coats with topcoat.

Third is Comes With a Price. This one is a glitter topper in a clear base with purple and green glass and micro glitters, purple holo glitters and some random chrome glitters. The glitter mix in this one is really well balanced. Good coverage is achieved in one coat and it looks like a galaxy mani on your nails with hardly any effort at all. Second favorite from the collection. Swatch pics show one coat over Cult Nails Nevermore.

Next is I'll Always Find You, a really nice champagne gold with silver shimmer. The color on this one is flattering the shimmer gives it a little more "oomph" than your run-of-the-mill mainstream gold. Pics show two coats and topcoat.

Then came Let's Play, a green with copper micro glitters. Shown is two pics with topcoat. This one is a little brush strokey and dries a bit gritty. I would suggest maybe using two coats of topcoat.

Last but not least is The Queen. This is a purple with red and purple holo micro glitters.Pics show two coats with topcoat. Again, I would recommend two coats of topcoat.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the collection. Formula on all of them is consistent and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that even the lighter polishes from the bunch built to opacity in just two coats. My top picks would be Chipped Cup and Comes With a Price.

Girly Bits Bachelor's Button

Good afternoon all!

Today I have swatches of the gorgeous Girly Bits Bachelor's Button. Bachelor's Button is a periwinkle blue linear holographic nail polish. I absolutely love the holographic polishes by Girly Bits because they are subtle, gorgeous, and very wearable.

My favorite part about this polish isn't the holo, but the stunning color, unique in my massive collection. The light blue color of this polish just says spring to me, and I fell in love with it immediately. The formula was very easy to use, and I used three thin coats (two would be sufficient if you use thicker coats than I do) and Seche Vite top coat.

You also get to see a bit of my elusive right hand! I have a cut on my swatching (left) hand that hasn't completely healed so I thought I'd give my right hand a try, it was more difficult than I ever imagined! I'm naturally right handed, but somehow my right hand can't manage to be graceful. :) In the end I photographed my mani on both hands because my right hand just felt wrong! A couple of the photos looked acceptable though:

Now back to my less-awkward left hand. These swatches make me realize that I shape my nails a little bit differently on each hand!

Just look at that stunning holo! If you love holos or blue polish I highly recommend Bachelor's Button!

Dr. Suess Duo

Hi lovelies!

I have some more goodies to show you that will be launching this weekend.  Two great indie polish gals, Carissa and Carolyn, have teamed up to create a pair of polishes inspired by Dr. Suess books.  These polishes with be available as a set from both the Freak Show Polish and the Liquid Sky Lacquer sites.

First up is "No One Alive Is Youer Than You" from Liquid Sky Lacquer.  This glitter bomb has it all!  Tons of shapes (stars, hearts, butterflies, giant hexes, squares, micro glitter) and in all the colors of the rainbow.  I used one coat dabbed over a skittle mani of primary colors.  I did seek out certain glitters to make sure I was able to show all the shapes.  It was very glitter dense.

Next is "Green Eggs and Ham" from Freak Show Polish.  This is a mossy green slimmer polish with a myriad of colored micro flakies.  I used two easy coats with a top coat.  I really love this muted green color.  When Carissa first showed me this polish concept, I said it did remind me of eggs.  It reminded me to the green/grey rim you get around a yolk if it is overcooked when hard boiling.  Haha!

And as you saw in my last post...gotta macro all the flakies!

The Dr. Suess Duo will launch at 5pm on February 8th.  The polishes will not be sold separately and only come as the duo.  The cost is $17 and can be purchased from both Freak Show Polish and Liquid Sky Lacquer
