Scruffers - My Blogger Collab with Great Lakes Lacquer

Hello friends,

I have a very special post today.  I have collaborated with Great Lakes Lacquer to create a limited edition polish for November.  With this polish releasing in the fall, I wanted a fun color that would be perfect for the season.  I have been loving mustard yellow in autumn for a few years now and wanted to make a nail polish shade that reflected that but still had something special.  Great Lakes Lacquer makes some pretty amazing crellies, so I knew that had to be the finish for my polish.  Mariah and I had been going back and forth tweaking my collaboration shade and finalized it this past weekend.  This all happened to coincide with the unexpected loss of my bestest scruffy buddy, Oscar.  I am still so very sad over the loss of my dog but being able to honor him with a special nail polish is very special.  I hope you like it :)

"Scruffers" is a muted mustard yellow crelly that is packed with copper microflakie shimmer and sprinkled with gold/copper/magenta ultrachrome flakes.  The formula is really lovely with a nice squishy effect.  If you are a yellow polish lover (and I know some of you out there are!), you will really like this shade of yellow.  I am showing you two coats with a glossy top coat in this swatch.

This special collaboration shade is limited edition.  You will only be able to purchase this shade from Nov 18th to Dec 2nd.  After that, it will be retired.  I am giving away a bottle of my Scruffers at the end of this post, so be sure to enter if you want to win!  And if you have a little buddy in your life...give them a big hug for me.  We love them so much and they leave us too soon.

  1. I'm sorry to hear about your sweet pup. Pets really do have profound marks on our lives. One that I have a strong mark from was actually my Grandmother's cat. They called her Rodent (my Grandfather said she looked like a lil Rodent and it stuck) ...she was a kitten when she was hit by a car, and miraculously she survived! But she ended up blind as a result. I loved her so much! Strong and spunky Tortie, who always excitedly greeted me when I would spend the summers at my Grandparents house.

  4. I too am sorry about scruffers. Mine was Violet Jane who I got behind my family's back and she was too young to be away from her mother. Everybody ended up falling in love at first sight. She lived I would like to think a great doggy life for 18years. She passed away at home in my husbands arms. I miss her terribly but beyond thankful for her memories. Jennifer

    1. Yes...even though it is tough to see them go, the joy they bring for all of those years is worth it.

  9. My puppy's name is Shadow. He is a 13 year old daschund with Cushings disease. I know his time to pass won't be long, but he's been my best friend for years. I just love him and his silly personality so much.
