piCture pOlish Shy Violet

Where does the time go? Today I'm back, and I'll hopefully be able to post more regularly now that the busy month of September is almost over. I can't wait for autumn, and I'm sure I'm not the only one excited for Halloween!

Today I have piCture pOlish Shy Violet. Shy Violet was designed by Glam Polish, and it is the perfect bright violet purple. It's bright and rich, and oh so gorgeous. Shy Violet is a jelly base loaded with scattered holographic particles that glitter and shine through the base.

The formula for this polish didn't give me any issues at all. It applied smoothly and dried pretty fast. I did end up needing 3 solid coats for an opaque finish. Since Shy Violet contains scattered holographic particles, the jelly base needs to be a bit more sheer so that you can see these gorgeous sparkles.

Every time piCture pOlish releases new collaboration shades I try to convince myself that I don't need them. It's not that they aren't gorgeous (it's that they are), I just have SO much nail polish! Somehow, I always end up buying all of the collaboration shades. Created by fellow polish addicts, these shades always fill holes in my polish collection. The collaboration shades are always something new, unique, and gorgeous!

Isn't Shy Violet just stunning?

Reswatch: Dandy Nails Come Out and Play

The last time I swatched Dandy Nails Come Out And Play was over a year ago! Since then, Come Out and Play has continued to be one of my favorite (and most complimented) polishes.

Come Out and Play is a beautiful violet purple polish with small white glitter. The overall look of this polish is very unique and incredibly cool. The white glitter is matte in finish, not reflective at all, so Come Out and Play is a beautiful polka-dotted purple.

The jelly base beautifully shows all of the glitter, yet it's opaque in 2-3 coats (depending on how thick you apply each coat). Best of all, the wear time on this polish is fantastic, it goes days without chipping. I can usually wear Come Out and Play for 4-5 days without even a hint of tipwear!
You may notice something is missing in these photos... it's amazing how big of a difference a solid colored background makes!

Dandy Nails polishes (including Come Out and Play) are available from her Etsy shop where they retail for $8 for a 0.5 oz bottle.

Dandy Nails Come Out and Play

I am so obsessed with this polish! If you follow a lot of nail blogs, you've probably seen Dandy Nails Come Out and Play before. Come out and Play is one of the most unique and pretty polishes that I've seen in a long time. It is a violet purple base with white matte glitter. The effect is purple polka-dots. I love it more than I can express. I wore this polish for 4 days! (I usually only wear polishes for a day, maybe two if I'm really busy.

These swatches are two coats plus base and top coat, and were taken on day three! Day 1 and 2 were too cloudy for photos, but I'm amazed it held up so well. It dries a tiny tiny bit bumpy but soothes out with a normal top coat.

These photos, like most I have seen of Come Out and Play really exaggerate the red-hue in this purple. It's really more of a purple-toned-fuchsia, and you can see that in this picture taken in indoor fluorescent lighting:

One thing I love about Dandy Nails is that the ingredient list is on the back of the bottle, it makes the brand very professional and shows that they are truly 3-free.

Dandy Nails polishes are available on Etsy HERE. They are currently sold out but should be re-stocked shortly. Sandy's polishes are becoming popular very quickly, and Come Out and Play is a must-have, I got so many compliments.
