Pure Ice 'New Year New Hue' Tinted Jellies

Well hello!

Today I have three new polishes from Pure Ice to share with you.  Pure Ice is a brand that I have seen in stores but had never really tried before.  They are sold exclusively at Walmart and are at an excellent price point (only $1.97!).  I guess I have always passed by these (and most polishes at Walmart) is because the nail polish displays are inevitably trashed at every store I go to.  None of the polishes are in the right place and they have been swatches all over the display shelves.  Some of the bottles are dried up and half empty.  At least this is how it is at my Walmart.  But now that I have tried them, I will definitely be hunting through the craziness for other colors, no lie.

So let's talk about the three sheer tinted jellies in the 'New Year New Hue' collection by Pure Ice!  in this collection, there are three jellies, one creme, one metallic, two glitter toppers and a matte top coat.  Today, I am showing you the three jellies and the matte top coat.  I think this matte top coat may be my new favorite matte top coat!   All three of these jellies are very sheer and likely not to get fully opaque on their own.  They are packed with a small iridescent hex glitter that gives them more interest than other sheer tinted jellies.  Let's get into it!

First up, we have "Purple Haze" which is the purple colored sheer tinted jelly.  I used three coats with a top coat.  Not fully opaque but I don't mind seeing my visible nail line.  But when I put the matte top coat on, it totally transformed.  I really like this matte top coat.  It made it so soft and matte looking that it looks out of focus.

Next is "Rosy Glow" which is the pink colored jelly.  I used three coats with this one as well.  It is the most opaque of the three.  And again, the Pure Ice matte top coat just gives it this crazy soft focus effect.  I'm a fan!

And lastly, here is "Blue Hue" which is the sheerest of them all.  Again, I used three coats with a top coat for these swatches.  The matte top coat makes it look so cool.

I did some fun and easy nail art with these jellies!  I haven't done a splash flower mani since last year when I did one with the Tillie Polish collection.  It is such an easy nail art to do and can be done in any combination of colors.   I used two of each of the tinted jellies in each nail with a black striper.  I have both the glossy and matte look for you.   For a great tutorial, head over to The Lacquerologist who is the creator of this look.

What do you guys think about these sheer tinted jellies?  I like the added effect of the glitter and they are amazing mattified.   I think this Pure Ice matte top coat is my new favorite!  I just love the super matte effect it gives.  Would you guys like to see a matte top coat comparison?  I have a ton of them.  Let me know in the comments.

Smooches!

  3. I want this collection so bad but my Walmart displays are like yours…trashed and bottles are usually gone. I hate that you can't buy them online!

    1. It sure would be better if they could be purchased online. I know you can get the core collection online but I haven't seen this one there.
