Glam Polish - The King Collection

G'day!

Boy, do I have some pretty little polishes to share with you today!  I have featured Glam Polish on the blog previously.  They are my favorite Australian indie nail polish brand and I have a weakness for their collections.  I hardly ever seem to buy just a few polishes for each collection, I just grab up the entire collection sight unseen.  So, you can imagine my excitement when they contacted me to review their newest creation, The King Collection.  Yippee!  This collection is inspired by the King of Rock-n-Roll himself, Elvis Presley.  There are nine polishes in the collection and I have 6 of them to share with you today.  Let's take a look at these hunka hunka burnin' loves!

Takko Tuesday! - Electric Apple: NYC

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I have an original takkito to share with you tonight.  In the most recent restock at Takko Lacquer's website, they made shades from the inaugural collection available.  This was really exciting for me because I was able to snag two colors that I have been wanting for years.  "Electric Apple: NYC" was on of them.  This is a classic Takko shimmer.  The base is a sort of concrete grey with a slight green tinge.  There is a soft golden yellow shimmer running throughout which when combined with the grey give this polish an overall olive feel.  It will look green at certain angles and grey at others.  Such an elevated neutral shade here!  Of course it was a lemming of mine...grey polish and a takkito?!?!  Gotta have it!  I did two coats here with a glossy top coat.  Even with the new Vitamin E infused formula, this looked fairly shiny on it's own to me.

Different Dimension - Cosmologically Speaking part 3

Hello lovelies!

I have some shifty shimmers to share with you today.  Different Dimensions has just released a little collection of 5 polishes with tons of shimmer and bright saturated colors.  I took a ton of photos of these polishes to try and get all the angles.    They all have a little bit of a duochrome effect and are filled with holographic sparks.  The sparks make these quite gritty in texture so a thick glossy top coat is definitely needed.  For all of these swatches, I did a final macro using two light sources to try and show off the shiftiness.  This collection released last week, so they are all available now.  Let's take a look!

Metallic Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly

Hi all!

Happy Saturday, time for the next prompt in the weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.  This week, the theme is metallic nails.  My most favorite metallic trend lately has been rose gold.  It's feminine and chic and I dig it.  I recently saw the Sinful Shine King Kylie display at Walmart and had to get this pretty little metallic polish, "Kreme De La Kreme", and had to get it.  It is a deeper rose gold color that leans a little more on the copper side than on the gold side.  I used this color as the base of my mani.

Next, I placed swirly nail vinyls from Whats Up Nails randomly on the edges of the nails.  I covered it with a thick coat of P2 Cosmetics "Winding Fjord" and pulled off the vinyls while it was still wet.  This is a beautiful deep teal creme from the Brave and Beautiful Collection.  I topped it all off with a glossy top coat.

I just had to see what this looked like with a matte top coat, too.  I just love a matte mani!  I really liked it both ways, glossy and matte.  Which do you like better?

I really, really liked how this came out.  And these vinyls were way fun.  I haven't used these swirly patterns before.  Whats Up Nails has a ton of different designs to choose from so they will have something for everyone.  Also, be sure to check out the #31DC2016Weekly tag on your favorite social media platform: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.  I am loving seeing everyone's nail art each week!

Many thanks!

Barielle's New ProSina Signature Line

Hi folks!

I have a few shades from new line of polishes from Barielle to share with you today.  Barielle has created a new line of polishes by taking some of the shades from their original collection and infused them with ProSina.  ProSina is a hydrolyzed keratin that helps improve durability and overall health of the nail.  So you not only get great color but nail polish that actually treats the nail.  The Barielle ProSina Signature Collection promises to be pregnancy safe and 5-free, so no icky chemicals to worry about.  I have just two colors from the collection of 100+ colors to try out but I am excited to try more.  They applied beautifully and had the added benefit of a treatment.  Make sure to check out the individual swatches after this cute little double side dot mani. :)

Barielle ProSina Signature Collection - McPolish - #doublesidedots

"In Good Taste" is a cool toned chocolate creme polish infused with ProSina.  It is rich and creamy and applied like a dream.  I did two coats for this swatch with a glossy top coat.  It dried pretty glossy on it's own without a top coat but I am too impatient to not use one.

Barielle ProSina Signature Collection - McPolish - In Good Taste

"Blackened Bleu" is a blackened jelly base with an intense bright blue shimmer throughout.  This also is infused with the ProSina keratin.  With the more jelly like base, this color was more sheer and required three coats to make it completely opaque.  This, too, is topped with a glossy top coat.  Dat Shimma is gorgeous!

Barielle ProSina Signature Collection - McPolish - Blackened Bleu

This new ProSina Collection is available now from the Barielle website.  You can usually find this brand at local beauty supply stores as well.  There are other nail treatments along with this collection for different ailments of you nails, so be sure to check those out while you are on the site.

Thanks!

Takko Tuesday! - Sweet Peas

Happy Takko Tuesday!

Today, I have one of the recent blogger collaboration shades to share with you.  Takko Lacquer paired up with two bloggers this past winter to create some super awesome polishes.  One of them was me (see my shades here) and the other was 25 Sweet Peas!  This is her namesake polish, "Sweet Peas".  It is a pink based shimmer bomb!  The base is a sweet pink with a soft linear holographic shimmer.  There is an intense bright pink flash in here as well.  The linear holo against the pink backdrop gives off a little bit of a gold flash, too.  The formula was great, too.  I did two easy coats with a glossy top coat to really bring out that shimmer.

Lilypad Lacquer Trio for Color4Nails

Hello!

I have a small little trio of shifty polishes to share with you all today.  They are from Lilypad Lacquer, which is an indie nail polish company out of Australia.  They have created a trio of polishes to be sold exclusively out of my favorite US stockist, Color4Nails.  There have been many Color4Nails exclusives lately and I am loving all of the wonderful shades and finishes.  When I first saw this trio, I though it looked a a little drab for Spring. Then I realized where they came from and right now, it is Autumn in Australia.  So these are perfect for that time of year there!  These three shades are flakie filled and super shifty.  They look pretty interesting on the nail, so let's take a look!

Lavish Polish - Spring 2016 Collection

Hi folks!

I have another pretty Spring collection to share you with you all today.  This is a small collection of 5 polishes from Lavish Polish.  They are all holographic crellies that are sweet and dainty for the season.  I am sure I have said this before on the blog, but Lavish Polish makes some of my favorite crellies.  Their formulas are just divine.  For these photos, I did a little watermarble accent nail using all five colors of the collection.  They watermarbled quite well!  This collection is available right now, so let's take a look!

Black & White Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly

Happy Saturday!

I hope you all are having a lovely weekend.  I sure am!  Today, for the Black & White prompt of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge (which I am going weekly instead of daily), I have some stamping.  But not your typical stamping.  Today, we are stamping over textured polish.  I have done this once before and was stunned that the images came out so crisp over just a rough surface.  It's magic!

Black and White Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly - McPolish

For this mani, I did two coats of Zoya "Dahlia" which is a black textured polish with a little bit of silver sparkle.  It is one of the original Pixie Dust formulas which Zoya isn't making anymore of but you can still find this on their website.

Black and White Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly - McPolish

Then I used Konad White Stamping Polish and UberChic Far East 01 plate and stamped right over the textured polish once it dried.  No top coat was used at all.  Look how crisp those white lines came out?  You would think they would be jagged the bumpy surface but they look super clean.  I really, REALLY liked how this turned out.

Black and White Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly - McPolish

Have you ever done stamping over textured polishes before?  It is not a new idea but I just hadn't been doing it a lot.  I anticipate doing manicures like this more often.  Be sure to check out the #31DC2016Weekly tag on your favorite social media platform: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.  You can jump in and join me on this nail art journey any time!

Thanks!

Nine Zero Lacquer - ROY G BIV Collection

Happy Friday!

Let's talk about rainbows today.  Oh rainbows...so colorful and fun.  Nine Zero Lacquer has recently come out with a collection of rainbow inspired polishes that are just gorgeous.  There are 7 saturated linear holographic polishes and 3 glitters in this collection.  I am totally digging the holos here.  They are bright and really pop on the nail.  This collection is available right now.  There are a lot of photos to follow, so let's get into it!

Takko Tuesday! - XOXO

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I have one of Takko Lacquer's glitter toppers to share with you tonight.  There are not many glitter toppers in my takkito stash as they really rock the shimmer polishes.  But this little topper is super fun and makes you feel like a rock star.  "XOXO" is a mix of holographic gold glitters and matte neon pink glitters of various sizes in a clear base.  The glitter payoff is quite good and I didn't have to fish for the larger neon pink hexes.  This really makes your nails sparkle..  I used one coat over a bright cobalt blue creme from P2 Cosmetics called "Working Woman" and the topped it all with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Pahlish - Patisserie de Pahlish Collection

Hello all!

I have a quaint little collection of cremes and toppers from Pahlish to share with you on this fine Monday.  Each month, Pahlish releases a nice collection.  I don't know how Shannon does it, but she is always creating new and interesting shades at a lightening pace.  This month, we are graced with 5 new cremes and two flakie toppers.  They aren't your typical spring pastels.  They are a little more grungy and I kinda like it!  Like spring pastels mixed with the dirty grey snow still piled up in the parking lots.  Haha!  Okay, that doesn't sound very pretty but hopefully you will see where my mind went once you see these polishes.  I really like them and I hope you will, too.  Let's take a look!

Violet Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly

Hi!

For this week's prompt, Violet, I have some super easy nail art to share.  I have seen this type of manicure done numerous times on Instagram, so I can't really give credit to one person for inventing it.  In fact, I may have done a manicure like this previously, but I just can't remember when.  All you need for this easy look is a fan brush.  In fact, you could probably get this same effect with no special brush at all.  But I used a fan brush that I got some the art supply store, Michael's.

Purple fan brush mani - #31DC2016Weekly - McPolish - P2 Cosmetics

First, I started with my favorite white base, OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls".  It is not a stark white and has a little hint of grey to it.  Once that dried, I put down globs of two purple shades from P2 Cosmetics onto my Uber Mat.  I then tipped the tip of my fan brush into each shade and lightly brushed it on the nail.  I started at the edge near my skin and then dragged it towards the midline.  I repeated those steps with both colors 2-3 times until I got the effect I liked.

Purple fan brush mani - #31DC2016Weekly - McPolish - P2 Cosmetics

The two purple polishes I used were from P2 Cosmetics which is a German drug store brand.  I am ever so grateful for my dear friend Lotte for sending me these polishes as I am just in love with the formulas.  The dark indigo violet is "Royal Beauty" and the periwinkle lavender is "Lovely Daughter".  They are both from the Volume Gloss line.

Purple fan brush mani - #31DC2016Weekly - McPolish - P2 Cosmetics

There was a little bit of clean up needed.  I should have used a latex barrier but I forgot.  It would have made it go much more quickly.  I topped this look off with a glossy top coat and a matte top coat.  I think I like the glossy the best, but I pretty much love all matte nails all the time. :)

Purple fan brush mani - #31DC2016Weekly - McPolish - P2 Cosmetics

I really enjoyed how easy this nail art was and how cool the results were.  In some lights, this looks more like a blue mani but it is purple, I swear.  Be sure to check out all of the other lovely nail artists joining in on this challenge.  You can find them easily by scanning the #31DC2016Weekly tag on your favorite social media platform: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook,  If you want to join in on the fun, please do!  There is plenty of time to catch up, this will not end until October 1st!

Three pretty polishes from Moo Moo's Signatures

Hey there!

Today, I have a few pretty polishes from Moo Moo Signatures.  This indie nail polish is based out of Singapore and is the brain child of the owner of Mei Mei Signatures.  She know all about indie polish because she has been a large international nail polish stockist for many years.  I have three polishes to share with you.  They are from different collections but are all still being sold and restocked with international shipping.  Let's take a look!

Takko Tuesday! - Pony

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I am starting to get nervous, guys.  I am running out of takkitos to share with you.  Luckily, I was able to snag two original shades from the last restock to add to my collection.  I want them all!!  Until I get those in the mail, let's take a look at a shade that was released this past fall.  "Pony" was a favorite of the collection.  It is a super bright deep pink/fuchsia creme with an interesting shimmer.  The pink is almost neon it is so bright.  The shimmer is very nice as well.  It is made of teeny tiny iridescent flecks that shift from light pink to light blue.  The formula was good, a little on the thicker side with all of the shimmer but still easy to apply.  It will dry down a little satin because of the VitE infused base, so I topped this off with a glossy top coat.  I can't wait to wear this on my toes this summer!

Blue Nails for the #31DC2016Weekly

Hi all!

I have something super cool to share with you today!  I have fallen back in love with magnetic polish.  True story, the polish that started this crazy addiction was a Sally Hansen Magnetic polish three and a half years ago.  I recently started to see Jeanette aka The Swatchaholic start doing these interesting magnetic manicures that were described as Masura Style.  The key to getting this super cool affect was using a very strong neodymium magnet.  Because the magnet is so strong, it can pull the magnetic particles even under a wet top coat.  Oh man...it is mesmerizing.  I have done a few manicures and posted them on my Instagram.  I guess that Masura saw them, because they contacted me to send some of their magnetic polishes to try out.  Score!  This is a Russian nail polish company and we all know that Russians are pretty much magical when it comes to nail art.  When they finally arrived, I knew I had to do a Masura style magnetic manicure for the challenge!
