Takko Tuesday! - Spirited Away

Happy Takko Tuesday!

Did you guys snag any polishes in the Takko Lacquer restock this past Friday?  I hope you did.  I still to no have any new takkitos to share with you but I have been successful in my destash hunting.  I found an older Takko shade that I am legit in love with.  "Spirited Away" was originally released in 2013.  It was a super saturated pink/purple holographic shade but over time has faded.  Pretty much all of the bottles I have seen in destashes are faded.  I think this was because of a vibrant pink pigment that was used during the past few years.  I have multiple bottles of similar pink polishes from other indie companies that have had similar fading issues.  I don't know if storing these bright pinks away from light would help.  Regardless, I never had the original pink shade to compare.  But sure as hell love the faded version!  My bottle has faded to the palest icy pink shade with tons of aqua/teal microshimmer and soft linear holographic effect.

Inspired by a Color for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hello!

We are in the home stretch of the weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge.  The last 10 weeks of the challenge are the toughest prompts.  All of the themes from here on out are all pulling inspiration from art and culture.  Usually, I start to get heavy on the hand painting.  Hopefully, my ideas will play out well on the nails.  For this week, we are doing manicures inspired by a color.  I was inspired by the color teal.  So I create a smooshy marbled manicure using several teal shades.  Oh yeah...and I gave my nails the chop!  Back to those little nubbins that I love so much :)

Celestial Cosmetics and Color4Nails Stamping polishes

Hey there!

Celestial Cosmetics has teamed up with Color4Nails to create a line of stamping polishes.  They have already released a set of creme shades and now have come out with a few holographic options.  I have the 5 new holographic shades to share with you today.  I will be showing you each color stamped over a light and dark base as well at the stamping polish used on it's own.  Overall, there polishes stamped well but you have to be selective on what color based to use them over.  They all showed up nicely over light bases but were iffy over the darker bases.  These new holo shades released on Friday, so let's get into the colors!

Watermarble Nails for the #31DC2017 Weekly

Hi there!

I am just getting in my challenge nails for the week by the skin of my teeth!  For the 20th week of the #31DC2017Weekly, we are doing Watermarbles.  Everyone's favorite nail art technique.  Haha!  Some people love doing this technique while others continuously struggle.  I am just average at it.  I mess it ip a bunch of times before I get something that I like.  I do prefer using jelly polishes for watermarbles, they just seem to spread better for me than cremes or shimmers. This week, I did a design that I haven't really done before.  More of a striped look that a classic flower design.  And then I stamped over it!  Crazy times, yo.

Takko Tuesday! - The Yellow Ribbon

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I am sure it is still Tuesday somewhere!  I was able to scare another older Takko Lacquer polish in a destash sale.  This is great because I am running out of Takkos to share on Takko Tuesday.  We should have some new takkitos popping up soon though.  "The Yellow Ribbon" was originally released last summer exclusive to the A Box, Indied.  It was the very last A Box, Indied to be released which made it extra special.  I mean...we all know it was extra special because it had a Takko in it, too.

Galaxy Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi there!

Well...I am a little late with challenge this week.  I should be showing you watermarble nails today but instead I have my galaxy nails from last week!  Oops.  But I will get caught up this week, I promise.  Galaxy nails are great.  They look complicated but are actually very easy to create.  It is difficult to mess them up.  Each year I say that I am going to do pastel galaxy nails for the challenge and each year I just end up doing traditional galaxy nails.  Well...this year I actually did some pastel galaxy nails!  They aren't as mesmerizing as traditional galaxy nails, in my opinion, but they are fun to look at nonetheless.

Road to Polish Con - Week 3 (KBShimmer, Lollipop Posse Lacquer, Darling Diva Polish)

Hello there!

It's Thursday...that means it is time to look at next week's exclusive shades for the Road to Polish Con series!   For Week 3, we have special polishes from three indie brands that will be attending The Polish Convention this fall in Chicago.  We will have shades from KBShimmer, Lollipop Posse Lacquer and Darling Diva Polish available starting on Sunday.  Right now, you can still get Week 2 polishes up until Saturday.  I heard that Week 1 polishes have already started shipping out if you opted to have then shipped each week.  You also have the option to have all of the Road to Polish Con polishes shipped in one package at the end to save on shipping costs.  I think that is a fantastic feature!  Are you ready to see what is coming up for Week 3?

Takko Tuesday! - Heads Will Roll

Happy Takko Tuesday!

I am still waiting on new Takko Lacquers to share with you all.  For the time being, I am searching through destash lists looking for the last few older Takkitos missing from my collection.  Today, I am sharing an older shade that I forgot I even had!  It is an older shade from summer of 2013.  "Head Will Roll" is thermal polish.  I was still able to get my bottle to color change after all these years, even though it was not as dark as it would originally have been.  "Heads Will Roll" is a sheer shimmery polish when warm that shifts to a light berry pink when cold.  Originally, it shifted to a pretty opaque raspberry color.  I was only able to get mine to a light pink after dunking my hand in ice water.  I do live in Florida, so I usually have a hard time with thermal polishes in the summer.  It's just too hot!

Nine Zero Lacquer - Smoothie Bar Collection

Hi friends!

Today, I have a bright and fun summer collection to share with you all.  Nine Zero Lacquer has just released the Smoothie Bar Collection which gives me all the 80s retro summer vibes.  They have paired neon colors with black shredded glitters for a look that Kelly Kapowski would totally rock.  They are all very bright, basically neons.  But they don't need a white base to get that bright neon look.  Let's dig in!

Half Moon Nails for the #31DC2017Weekly

Hi all!

Today, for the half moon prompt of the weekly version of the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge, I did some half moon nails.  Haha.  But seriously, these are just some simple half moon nails with embellishments.   I always enjoy seeing manicures with negative space half moons.  They always look very classy and simple which is what I like in nail art.  You can use any color of finish and it looks good.  I swear!

Ellagee - Throne Shippers Collection

Hi all!

I have a very fun, very shifty collection to share with you all today.  Ellagee loves to make collection based on Game of Thrones (TV show and the books) and I have covered them all here, here and here.  This newest collection is a quad of multichrome shifting shimmers inspired by love matches that Laura would like to see happen in the next season of Game of Thrones (which starts in two weeks!!!).  If you are a fan of the series, I want to know if you think these couples should pair up, too.  Share your thought of the polishes and the show in the comments.  This set is launching right now, so let's take a look at all of the goodness!
