Tillie Polish - Sweet Treats

Hello Spring!

Today I have one of my favorite indie polish brands to share with you.  Tillie Polish is a wonderful company founded by three sisters that love polish.  I do not have a single polish from these ladies that I do not just love.  What I love about their polishes...they are not glitter bombs!  If you are into indie polish at all, you know how many brands are glitter crazy.  Tillie Polish has great crèmes and shimmers to add to your collection.  Perfect application, vibrant colors, smooth and creamy...everything you want in polish!  So you can imagine my sheer joy when I opened up my mailbox to find a surprise package of their new spring collection, Sweet Treats.   There are 5 bright and springy colors in this collection, 2 crèmes and 3 subtle shimmers.  So get ready for some nail art and swatches!

Tillie Pollish - Sweet Treats - Splash Flower mani

I used all five of the Sweet Treats collection to create this Splash Flower nail art.  It was easy and fun and looks awesome.  I followed a tutorial made by my pal Emily at The Lacquerologist.  Go check it out and try it for yourself!

LA Girl Black Illusion Swatches

If there's one thing I love more than a linear holo, it's a squishy jelly-based scattered holo. Although I love my Zoya scattered holos, and my piCture pOlish scattered holos, I always go back to my LA Girl 3D Effects Hologram Collection. This was a collection of scattered holographic polishes that cost just $4 to $5 each (still available on drugstore.com and the LAgirl website, although I'm unsure of in-store availability). These polishes are stunning, and just as gorgeous as the more expensive brands.

This is LA Girl Black Illusion, a black jelly base loaded with scattered holographic flecks. The color is really more of a dark grey than black. I don't usually wear black nail polish, so I actually prefer the dark grey to black! The best part of this polish is that the uncolored base means every color of the rainbow is visible reflecting in the scattered holographic flecks, and it's stunning!

The formula on these polishes is thick, but quite easy to apply. Black Illusion one was opaque in 2 coats, and I added a third coat for more depth (photos show 3 coats and SV topcoat). The wear time is excellent, I wore this one for more than three days with only a little tip wear (and I'm not very gentle on my hands/nails).

Isn't it just stunning? Are you a fan of scattered holos?

Stamping over nail vinyls

Hi Girls! Sorry I have been MIA lately. I started a new job back in late January and I have been so busy. I usually would write parts of my blog posts during my breaks at work but sadly I have had to put it off to the back burner.

Today I just wanted to show you my stamping I did using some nail vinyl stickers I had ordered online.

I started my base with some of my favorite OPI's. Alpine snow, Black Onyx and Hey Baby.

I then applied nail vinyl stickers. You can also use regular tape and cut them with pinking sheers.

I got my stamping image ready to apply to my nail

After stamping and removing the nail stickers. You have a very unique image. I chose chevrons for a creative accent nail.

I hope you give this a try. Let me know what you think!

Load Lacquers Jiggles - Vibrant Set

Are you ready for more Jelly Sandwiches?!?!?

I hope that you all enjoyed my last installment of jelly sandwich spam.  Today have the second half of the Loaded Lacquers Jiggles Collection.  This set of jellies are very bright and fun and scream summer time!  As before, these jelly polishes are just fantastic.  For all of these manicures I used two coats of jelly polish, one layer of glitter polish, one layer of jelly polish followed with a top coat.  All the glitters I used are also from Loaded Lacquer.  And of course there will be tons of EPIC macros!!  Be sure to check out Heather's site for all the jelly goodness!  www.loadedlacquer.com

Ninja Polish Glamorous: My holo obsession continued.

I may have mentioned this before, but I'm absolutely in love with holographic polishes. I love how these polishes can feel subtle, but be incredibly colorful and sparkly when the light hits them. When I first heard about the gorgeous blue holo that is Ninja Polish Glamerous I knew I had to have it. Glamourous is similar to the hard to find OPI DS Glamour, and since I've always loved OPI DS Glamour, and wished I could find a bottle I had to try Glamorous!

Ninja Polish Glamorous is a beautiful dark denim blue holographic. The holo is linear and absolutely stunning.

The formula was excellent. I didn't have any issues that are typical of holographic polishes, and it was very opaque. While Glamorous was almost opaque in one coat I used two and SV topcoat for the photos below.

I've recently heard that Ninja Polish is experiencing some shipping issues, with most packages taking two weeks to ship. This is unfortunate, but I'm still a huge fan and customer of Ninja Polish, so if you want to try this stunning holo please have patience. (Glamorous is out of stock at the time of this post.)

Go Green!

Hello lovelies!

I love March.  Why?  Because I am an Irish girl and love St. Patrick's Day.  It may be cheesy but I just think it is such a fun holiday.  So I wanted to share some swatches of some great indie polishes that are festive for holiday and well...green.  Green is definitely the color of the week for me!  I am pretty positive that all of these polishes are still available to purchase.  So if you see something you like, head over to the shops and Go Green :)

First is The Mean One from Sindie Pop Lacquers.  I wore this in 2 coats with a top coat.  Even though this polish was released as part of Jessica's Christmas line, it is perfect for St. Patty's Day.  A great white crelly with lots of green glitter.

Sindie Pop - The Mean One

Next is Sparkling Shamrock from Drip Drop Nail Paint.  I really love this shade of green and the subtle holographic sparkle.  This is part of Jessica's St. Patrick's Day duo.  She also has a fun glitter topper to go along with it.  I have on two coats with a top coat.

Third up is a gorgeous green jelly from KBShimmer called Green Hex and Glam.  Oh my goodness...look at this squishy dream!  Another polish from a Xmas collection, but it just screams St. Patrick's Day to me.  This polish was very difficult to photograph (a true test to a great polish).  I used three coats with a top coat.

Then I just had to mattify this...all epic jellies need to be mattified!  Wowza!!

KBShimmer - Green Hex and Glam matte

Another great green jelly from KBShimmer is Get Clover It.  This polish was from last years spring collection and it is a keeper.  Squishy jelly and circle glitter!  What more could you want?  I used three coats for this as well with a top coat.

Next is a true stunner from Pipe Dream Polish.  Green Light was part of April's Lorde Gatsby collection and it was a huge hit (as you can see).  There is so much holo goodness in this polish it was hard to concentrate on anything else but my nails.  Again, this polish was difficult to capture the true beauty on camera.  You will just need to see it for your self in person.  Two coats with a top coat here.

Pipe Dream Polish - Green Light

Lastly is a minty green called Tiffany Who from Bliss Polish.  One of the great features of this polish is that it dries matte and velvety.  It looks great matte.  But when you add a top coat, that golden shimmer is amplified.  I love this color!  I wore this with 2 coats and a top coat.

So which green polish are you planning on wearing this week?  Do you have some festive green nail art planned for Monday?  You don't want to get pinched do you!

Contrary Polish River Market

*taps the mic* Is this thing on?

Sorry to have abandoned you in the www, readers! Life has been a bit crazy this year. I hope you  have all been well and stayed entertained and engaged with the lovely Bec and Co. It doesn't even bruise my ego not being missed since your were in such capable hands :)

For today's post I have this lovely purple shimmer from Contrary Polish. River Market was on my wish list for quite some time. In my quest for long-time lemming Takko Lacquer Kiss the Sky, I became....well....obsessed with beautiful purple polishes. In polish and Pokemon, I gotta catch em all! This one does not disappoint. Formula is good, I have three coats of squishy goodness plus topcoat in the swatch pics below.

 And, because I couldn't resist...macro!
Have a great week, my polished pretties! Indie Amy out.

Pretty Serious - Generally Hazardous

Hi all!

I wanted to share a little swatch with you all today.  I picked up my first Pretty Serious polishes during their epic Black Friday sale and this baby was number one on my list.  I have wanted some lovelies from this Aussie indie maker ever since I started following Rebecca here on PolishEtc.  She is a huge Pretty Serious fan :)  My plan is to wear orange/coral every day this week.  Be sure to stop by my Instagram to see them all!

So here she is!  A gorgeous orange with gold shimmer.  I used two coats with a top coat.  The shimmer in this polish is tiny micro flakies.  It is beautiful!  It's glowy!  It's orange!
